Beauty Buys/Beauty Haul & PR samples

'BEAUTY BUYS' is just another term coined for the infamous 'HAUL'. It is the list of things I buy, try and the ones you will hear me 'yak', 'blab', 'review' about in next few posts!!! Call this a 'Preview'..

My Beauty and Skincare picks for the month of March. I didn't buy everything in one day. Occasional buys in the whole month adds up and while I share some of these on Instagram, I try and upload one collective blog post for the same.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip: Sephora Favorites mostly carry good selection of products. This Lip Set has bunch of lip products that are 'nude' colors or my lips but better. I personally am a huge fan of NARS Dolce Vita Lipstick. It is a sheer, my lips but better kind of a product. I recently emptied my old one and this came just in time, full size along with some other colors to try.

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish: As much as I love my peels and other exfoliators, it feels really good to have some beads actually scrubbing off the dead skin. Laura Mercier is my absolute favorite in this department. I have had samples of this in the past. It was one of my "Best in Skincare -2015" product. Finally I picked the full size.

Caudalie lip balm n hand cream set: What can I do? The 'Isle of Doom' at Sephora always has these amazing value sets or minis to try. I love Caudalie hand and nail cream. They are one of the best in terms of texture and performance. Scent, not a fan. The Caudalie Lip Conditioner is something I have never tried. The brand has always worked for me. Hopefully, the lip conditioner will be awesome too.

Elizabeth and James Nirvana White: Picked this fragrance bottle. I was torn between the Black and White. Both smell divine. The white one was more day time scent for me. Fragrances are very subjective and describing scents and notes itself is science. So if I have to describe anything related to scent, I just say I like it or I don't. With my little understanding of scents, I know this is very delicate, floral and feminine. Not too sharp. The Notes: Peony, Muguet, Tender Musk. (website).

I picked some drugstore goodies too. All from NYX Cosmetics.

NYX Slim Lip Pencil in the Shade Mauve
NYX Butter Lipstick in the shade Pops Explosif
NYX Butter Lipgloss in Shade Angel Food cake
NYX Soft matte Lip Cream in Shade Cannes
NYX Powder Blush in Mauve (on sale here)

I was sent two press samples to try.

Royal Rose Hydrating Serum from the brand Valentina. I have never tried anything from them before. It is almost 3 weeks of me trying this one and I will review it on the blog soon.

Another Skincare product that I was sent was from the brand Cura Skincare. They just have one product and that makes it all the more interesting. The creme is called Complexion Catalyst Crème and the ingredient list is great. It is perfect for dry skin like mine. I am currently using it once a day. With two products to test, I can manage only AM and PM with one product in each time slot.

Lastly, it was my B'day month and Sephora gave this lovely gift. It has two Marc Jacobs products. A lipstick in the shade Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and an eyeliner in black. Both are mini sizes, but appreciated.
Also some interesting trial samples to try. I am most excited to try these. Murad Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence and Shiseido Ibuki Quick fix Mist

New In Beauty - Beauty Cravings

New exciting products!!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Collection: The colors look beautiful and all the palettes that Too Faced has in their line have amazing quality. Well most of them have. The Chocolate Bon Bons palette has the smoothest texture. I can never do justice with colors. Neutral Eye shadows are my thing and Too faced Natural Eye Neutral eye palette is an all time favorite.

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream is new. I saw it online at Nordstrom while I was searching for a decent pair of leggings. I have yet to see it in person, but the product sounds like it would be dry skin friendly!

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector™ Luminous Blush: If the texture of this blush is anywhere close to the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, then I am all for it. These come in 6 shades, though currently only two shades are available at Sephora for VIB members. The whole range is a summer release.

Tom Ford Radiant Moisture Soufflé: I loved the name. The product promises to illuminate, hydrate, replenish and re-energize. The product also promises to dent your pocket (yep! Tom Ford skincare it is)

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Serum: Another serum from a brand that love. Not everything they make works for me, what ever has worked has become Holy Grail. This Face Serum is a fast-absorbing fluid that intensely hydrates skin and helps it retain moisture for a healthy-looking, glowing complexion. I would want to try this Rose Hydration line, but I am sure they will come up with some set or kit in the future.

Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector: This is a new product that has an innovative, lightweight formula and provides more coverage, hydration, and optical blurring than a BB or CC cream. Now, 90% of the time I struggle with finding a decent color match when it comes to BB or CC creams. They are meant to color correct, but for some reason these make me look ashy or muddy or just off in general. Need to see how this one works.

Wander Beauty Catch the Light Highlighter: I don't have much idea about this brand. It is online only, but anything that says 'Highlighter' is not easy to ignore for me. Looks very common product to me. It all depends on the texture of the product though.

Origins By All Greens™ Foaming Deep Cleansing Mask: A foaming, cleansing face mask! I know what it will do but I am more curious to see How it will do. Origins have been coming out with cool products. Recently they came out with Origins Maskimizer™ Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer. A primer for face masks! Isn't that cool?

Yves Saint Laurent 'Les Sahariennes' Bronzing Stones: I love Yves Saint Laurent's luxury, chic packaging more than the actual product in them. If you are looking for a Bronzer, they have three shades. Something might work.

There are other collection and releases as well. With so many brands, it is difficult to keep track of what is released and when. The above ones caught my eye. Anything from the newer offerings you are interested in?

Fresh Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy - Review

An ultimate age-defying treatment for your lips and lip contour area.

Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy helps to nourish and improve the definition on and around the lips while visibly smoothing fine lines for fuller, younger-looking lips. Composed of sugar derivative, spilanthes acmella flower, skin-firming amino acids, and adenosine, Sugar A3 Complex is the ultimate age-delay protection to help regenerate youthful lips. It helps to target the loss of skin firmness and the appearance of deep wrinkles while protecting collagen and elastin.

Formulated WITHOUT: - Parabens - Sulfates - Phthalates

Oh the claims!!! I was so excited to try this product when it came first in the market. You can sell me aka Skincare junkie anything that says SERUM and a Lip Serum was something I had never heard of. Lip Balms, Lip Oils, Lip Masks I have used before but Lip Serum was a new thing.

This is an old post, that I had found while I was going through my drafts on blogger. I have tried and used this product more than a year back. My two cents on this product.

Color: Pale vanilla cream color

Texture and Consistency: Thick, not too dense or heavy, creamy

Scent: It does has a faint smell, but does not bothers me at all. It is not very perfume like.

Application: I applied it on bare lips, like any other lip balm. Tiniest amount is all that is needed. There is no specific way to apply a lip balm or lip serum.

Feel and Effect on Lips: The product is definitely lighter in texture and not as greasy or oily like lip balms and lip oils. There is no shine nor too much of slip. It immediately sinks into the lips and even though the lips feel soft initially, I don't feel that softness staying on for long. I also noticed less lines on the lips. It was not matte, but it gave a more even appearance in terms of texture. The lips appeared more smooth.

As far as the hydration and moisturization goes, it was not great on its own. If I topped it with a lip balm, the softness was maintained. On its own, I found my lips were pretty dry after few hours.

I also noticed slight peeling and blisters around the corners of my lips on initial few applications, but that never happened once I got used to it. I have no idea why that happened, but I thought it is worth mentioning. It does taste horrible.

Packaging: The packaging is very hygienic. The bottle is made of plastic and there is a pump. The pump does dispense decent amount of product and can be controlled easily.

Verdict: I have mixed feelings about this one. To begin with, I do understand it is a lip treatment more targeted towards aging lips by making them look smoother and free of fine lines. So I didn't had high hopes from it to work as a highly moisturizing and hydrating product like lip balms and lip masks. While I love the claims and the concept, I didn't notice much of a difference it made. Also the peeling and blisters/boils around the lip area was a bummer. It didn't happen all the time, but it did made me feel not so good about the product.

In conjugation with a lip balm, it works better to retain the softness and hydration of the lips. If you are looking for something to moisturize and hydrate, this is not the one for you. Bite Beauty AGAVE mask is a good product for that over night moisturizing treatment. Also, Yves Saint Laurent 'Volupté' Tint-in-Oil is amazing. I have used two tiny samples of it, but it is lovely.

Few Lip Products that I have used and enjoyed in the past

Edward Bess All Over Seduction - Afterglow (review/swatches)

Create naturally luminous skin for ultimate seduction.
Exclusive cream finish incredibly smooth to the touch highlights eyes, cheeks and lips. Illuminates the complexion with sheer, natural color.

This product has been with me for quite sometime! I just never reviewed it. It is not a new product and I have a good dip in the pan. Very well loved, top shelf material. As a blogger, I always end up clicking pictures of products when they are new and nice. A little fascination with shiny products! Well, that obsession has been reduced to some extent now. I just don't wait to click pictures of skincare anymore. I start using it and try and take pictures whenever I can.

Back to the product. I love me some cream products. Especially cream blushes and highlighters.

The Edward Bess all over seduction is a tiny, expensive for the amount in the pot but a wonderful, excellent product.

Color: Afterglow is a mix of peach beige and bronzy Gold color with warm tones and subtle golden shimmer.

Texture and Consistency: Light, non greasy or oily, non sticky cream with a decent amount of slip, yet not too soft and mushy.

Scent: This is a scented product. It has a pleasant scent, though I cannot pinpoint exactly what it smells like. I for sure can say it does not smell like roses or sandalwood or citrus. The smell though obvious in pot, does not lingers on forever when applied.

Application: I apply this using my fingers. The heat of the fingers melts the product and it is easy to pick the amount needed. I just dab the product where ever needed and use patting motion to apply. I try not to drag or rub the product in. It is not too creamy. It just clings to the skin but has enough slip, making it easier to blend. A little goes a long way. I swipe my finger on it and put it on my cheekbones, bridge of the nose and occasionally on cupids bow. I also use it as a base for my powder highlighters.

I tried using it with a synthetic brush, but it didn't work for me. The texture of the cream is pretty solid for the brush to pick correct amount and blend. It reminds me of the NARS The Multiple. I never enjoyed using NARS multiple with a brush.

Feel and Effect on Skin: It just melts into the skin making it look all glowy and beautiful. The end result is not patchy or streaky at all. The color Afterglow is warm enough to blend with my skin tone and the golden shimmers are so subtle, that it is barely looks like shimmer. I just love the way it melts and gives the skin this lit from within glow. It catches light beautifully. Also it does not emphasizes pores. The color is subtle yet build able. It is not metallic or frosty on the skin.

Longevity: This stays for a really long time. It is not one of those products that just vanishes off by end of the day.

Packaging: The round black plastic compact is tiny and sleek with a little mirror inside. There is no applicator and comes in a fake suede pouch to help prevent fingerprints. It is very portable and can be easily carried in a purse for touch up.

Swatch of Chanel Sunkissed, NARS Hot Sand, Becca Opal, Edward Bess Afterglow, Josie Maran Illuminizer, Benefit Sunbeam

Verdict: The product is a very safe, ffol proof one. It is almost impossible to over do it. It is very subtle and not over the top, in your face highlighter. This doesn't makes me look oily or emphasize pores. The glow is very delicate and exquisite. It doesn't look fake.
It simply gives a healthy, natural soft glow without being frosty or metallic. This is a good product for those no makeup makeup days.

There are some other highlighters (liquid, cream) that I have swatches up for comparison. It is not at all similar to any other color that I have. The Chanel Sun kissed is more bronzy Gold, while the Benefit Sunbeam is more bronzy. The Josie Maran Illuminator is the most metallic looking, while the NARS Hot Sand is comparatively cooler. Becca Opal is more warm and golden. Edward Bess Afterglow is the most peachy and subtle of the whole lot.

The very fact that it is subtle is what makes it more attractive and must have in my book.

IT COSMETICS - Your Skin But Better CC Cream (review)

An all-in-one multi-tasking beauty miracle. It is a correcting cream that gives full, flawless, perfect coverage, protects skin with SPF 50+ from the harmful rays of the sun and is clinically proven to improve skin texture and hydration.

It's packed with anti-aging ingredients that is clinically proven to improve skin and works on all ages, that doesn't crease or crack! The anti-aging hydrating formula is infused with peptides, niacin, algae, vitamins A, C, B, E, hyaluronic acid, and hydrolyzed collagen along with anti-oxidants and exotic natural botanicals for long-term brightening and color-correcting benefits.

Paraben-free
SPF 50+ UVA/UVB Broad Spectrum Physical Only, Non-Chemical Sunscreen.

IT COSMETICS - Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+ : It has all the right words that any one would want to hear. The mere sound of  'Color Correcting, Full Coverage, Anti-aging, Hydrating, Serum, SPF 50+ UVA/UVB, chemical free, Paraben free' itself makes me want to believe that it is miracle in a tube.

Color: I have a full tube in shade TAN and few foil samples in shade MEDIUM. I am glad I got to try both, because it an expensive product. My perfect match would be combination of both the shades. The medium one is too light on me and the Tan shade looks little dirty or rather has an ashy undertone.

Texture and Consistency: Light weight, not very dense, not too thin/runny nor too thick (like a cream), non goopy, non sticky

Scent: It smells like pineapple/orange lollipop. Well not as intense, but it has hint of pineapple or orange. This scent does not lingers on the face. It does not bothers me.

Application: I use a full pump of product and dot it all over my face. With the help of a small head, synthetic buffing brush like the Real Techniques Buffing Brush or Urban Decay Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush, I buff the product well into my skin using circular motions. Once applied, I set it with a light dusting of the powder, like the Charlotte Tilbury 'Air Brush Flawless Finish' Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder, Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder or MAC Mineralize Skin finish Natural. (Any one)

I need to prep my face with a light moisturizer or a hydrating primer like the Too faced Hangover Primer few minutes before I apply this or else it clings on to any dry patches if any.

Feel and Effect on Skin: The CC cream has enough slip to move around, helping it to blend easily. It is a little tacky to touch after blending and does not dries or sets quickly. The coverage on me is medium to full and it is buildable. The product does not feels heavy on the skin, but it does feel that something it there on the skin. The feeling is pretty much like one you get on applying a heavy sunscreen. The finish is not flat matte but not very glowing. It is a dewy finish. It does not sink in the fine lines, but will cling on to dry patches if not well moisturized.

I tried applying it with a beauty blender and the end result was a disaster. Also using fingers gave a very patchy application. Brush is the way to go.

Color Correcting: I don't know what exactly this is supposed to correct. In my case, I assume it will correct any pigmented patch because I don't have any redness. I didn't notice any color correction. For me it just covered everything like a foundation. The undertone was little ashy but after setting it with powder, it adjusted itself with my skin tone.

Longevity: This lasted on my skin for around 6 hours after setting with a powder. It is advised to re-apply every two hours for that sunscreen effect to last long, but I didn't do that. The CC cream did not oxidize or became patchy at all.

Packaging: A soft squeeze tube with a pump. The pump is good. It dispenses adequate amount of product.

Verdict: I have mixed feelings about this product.  As much as I like the fact that it has sunscreen SPF 50+ protection, I hate the way it makes my skin look weird and ashy in flash photography or in any pictures in general. Also, I am not a huge fan of the texture, The tackiness is expected because it has sunscreen in it, but the way it sits on the skin and transfers everywhere if not set with a powder is what bugs me the most. If I set it with powder, I lose the dewy effect.

As far as the hydration part is concerned, it is OK. It does not crack or break by end of the day, nor does it sink in the fine lines, but it will cling on to dry patches if not well moisturized.

I see myself using this a lot during summer months when I go out for walk or just in general when I am out. I would not use this any place where I know I will be photographed. It is a notch above the regular sunscreen. In fact a great alternative to sunscreen. The coverage can be controlled, which is a plus.

I just wish they come up with more color in this range.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration - (review)

A head-to-toe moisturizer that provides instant hydration for dry, itchy skin.

This quick-absorbing Ultra Repair Cream is recommended for anyone with severely dry, scaly skin due to harsh winter weather, aggressive cosmetic treatments, or any of the following conditions: atopic dermatitis, irritant eczema, allergic eczema, and keratosis pilaris. With the help of colloidal oatmeal, shea butter, soothing eucalyptus oil, and ceramides, its luxurious, ultra-hydrating formula provides immediate relief and visible improvement for distressed skin. The FAB Antioxidant Booster—comprised of licorice root, feverfew, and white tea—defends skin from free radical damage. Great for all skin types especially dry, irritated skin, it leaves skin smooth, hydrated, and comfortable.

Formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Phthalates

This petroleum-free product is allergy-tested, dermatologist-recommended, and safe for sensitive skin.

I am on to my third jar of this Cream and I never reviewed it. It is one of those products that is just a basic cream, that my family uses everyday and my son loves it. He has very very dry skin.

There are many body butters and skin creams that I have used all my life like the Kiehl's whipped Body Butter, The Body Shop Body Butter, Josie Maran whipped argan oil body butter, Korres Body Butter as well as the usual drug store Eucerin, Cerave etc. While most of them do their job of hydrating the dry skin by providing enough moisture and replenishing the skin with wonderful oils, the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration is loved most by our family because of its texture and consistency. I have Keratosis pilaris (chicken skin), while my son has very dry skin. He does not has eczema, but very crusty skin that appears like drought zone. These conditions are not contagious, but they are just annoying. In winters all of these worsen.

Color: White

Texture and Consistency: Thick, not too dense, light weight, not greasy cream

Scent: None. Fragrance Free.

Application: Just apply directly on dry skin, extremities, face. It is gentle enough to use on face as it does not clogs the pores. Basically anywhere and everywhere as needed. I don't use it on my face because of all the other fancy serums I use, but for my son I use it on his face too.

Feel and Effect on Skin: The cream spreads easily and is absorbed almost instantly. It does not sits on top of the skin. It does not leaves any shiny or oily, greasy residue, which is the best part. It is light weight and does not feels heavy on the skin. It calms the irritated, dry and peeling skin. It does not loses its effect after few hours. I don't need to re-apply it often. Also, with consistent use for a week or so, the knees, elbows and dry, thick areas of skin soften and the texture of the skin is evened out.

Verdict: This is pretty up there in price. A good quality cream like Eucerin, Cerave from the drug store will perform equally good or maybe better if the skin suffers from severe Eczema. It is the light weight and non greasy texture that worked for my family. The texture, consistency and the results were good enough for us that we didn't bother to change. Another plus point is this can be used on the face as well. It does not clogs pores and does not looks shiny. I do keep trying newer stuff all the time, but the family chooses to stick to this one. This is a good cream, but there are cheaper options available that perform equally well.

The Monthly Review - Beauty/Skincare Hits and Misses (February)

The Monthly Review series will feature a mix of products ranging from Skincare, Beauty, Bath and Body, Hair, Nails etc. that I find interesting, magical, unique or just fun to use in that particular month. These products may be recent release or an old discovery. Also, in the series I will mention few products that failed to impress me or just did not work at all.

February came and went by so fast. The initial months of the year are always 'meh' kinds. A lot to do with the crazy weather and no festivities around. I did try a bunch of new skincare and also opened my 'box of back-ups'. I don't buy any makeup back-ups now, but there was a time when I did. Crazy MAC times!!

Kate Somerville Exfolikate Cleanser: I hit jackpot with this one. Such a wonderful cleanser. It is gentle yet effective at the same time. It smells lovely and the end result is very clean, refreshing and brightening. A full review to come soon.

Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water: I love this as much as I love my Bioderma Micellar water. This one from Nuxe smells much better than the Bioderma one. It removes every single trace of makeup. I personally find this more soft, gentle and less drying than the Bioderma one. A big thumbs up!

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask: I love every single product that this brand has to offer. At least the ones that I have tried. Available at Target, this brand offers amazing quality skincare at a mid range price. It is not very crazy expensive, but it ain't cheap either. The results are phenomenal. There are trial kits like this one and a great way to try multiple products from the brand. The Water Sleeping masks just delivers what it promises. It hydrates and replenishes the dehydrated skin. Much better than some of the high end hydrating sleeping masks that I have tried.

Laneige Water Bank Serum: This too was a part of this kit and the whole kit targets towards the dehydrated skin condition. The serum smells light and lovely. It is gentle, absorbs very fast and does not leaves any greasy residue. The face is moisturized and retains its hydration level for a very long time. Just love it!

Kiehls 'Creme de Corps' whipped body Butter: This looks and feels like butter. Real butter. It is yellow in color, has a whipped cream cheese consistency. Light weights, absorbing and moisturizing. I have this one from the Holidays. It smells different, but the regular one in their line is exactly the same in performance, but not the scent. It is not greasy at all. Does not leave any shiny or oily film. Love this one. Mine is almost empty!

As I was going through my 'box of back-ups' I came across this Bobbi Brown Warm eyes palette. I already use one on regular basis. It is very common neutral palette of warm brown colors. I love that it is so sleek and portable. The brush is handy as well. It is of good quality. For this post, I chose to click the nicer, newer palette. Bobbi Brown usually comes up with these kind of portable palettes all the time, like this one and this one. The shadows are nice, blendable and lasts for a good amount of time.

MAC Cremesheen glass: These have been my go-to gloss for sometime now. Not at all new in the world of beauty, these lip glosses are high shine, creamy, comfortable and beautiful. I have at least one MAC Cremesheen glass in pretty much every purse and bag I carry around. Good Product. Love it!

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Mist: I always thought this was over rated. After my initial 2 use, I was not ready to admit that this mist was amazing, but in reality it is awesome!! It is exactly like it says on the pack 'luminous, dewy mist'. I have tried many 'dewy' mists, but that 'luminous' part is real! It leaves the skin looking beautiful. I have dry skin and this mist just gives it extra life. This product is expensive and unique in its own way.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette: This one needs no introduction. I love the brand, I love the product. Period. The 'Radiant light' ambient powder provides a lovely warmth to the face and the light sheen that it imparts looks radiant and natural. It is over the top or fake looking. A beautiful, forgiving product.

Edward Bess All over Seduction in the shade After Glow. This is a cream product, a cream highlighter to be precise. It is not the most creamiest product, but the sheen in it is top notch. The product needs to be applied with fingers, using tapping and patting motion to get the most natural finish. The warmth of the finger helps to pick the product well. It lasts the whole day and the glow and shine this imparts is absolutely amazing!

IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Flat Top Buffing Brush: This is the only flat top buffing brush I own, so I don't have anything else to compare this. On its own, the bristles are soft, help pick decent amount of product and blends and buffs it nicely into the skin giving a flawless appearance. The bristles have good splay to them, so it makes blending powder foundation easy without giving cake'y' finish. I think it is a bit over priced though.

There was only one disappointing product this month. The Skin Inc Pure Deepsea Hydrating mask. This clear, gel mask failed to provide any hydration to my dry skin. The skin felt smooth and velvety to touch, but it felt stretched and pulled like crazy! Just after 30 minutes, I had to wash it off and apply generous amount of Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream. I tried this product multiple times, because the ratings on Sephora are amazing. It was just disappointing to see the product not working for my skin.

Beauty Buys/Beauty Haul - Sunday Riley, Rimmel, Urban Decay, FAB etc

'BEAUTY BUYS' is just another term coined for the infamous 'HAUL'. It is the list of things I buy, try and the ones you will hear me 'yak', 'blab', 'review' about in next few posts!!! Call this a 'Preview'..

With everyday new releases in Beauty and Skincare it is practically impossible to buy and try everything. I get little picky with the products that I buy, especially the skincare. A bunch of products that I picked in the month of February. I have posted few of these already on the Instagram and inspired by that I tried posting this whole post just with iphone 6 photos. Fun with blogging!

Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream: Just look at the name! I mean what is not there to like in this product. With an impressive ingredient list, a credible brand behind it and the word "brightening". SOLD!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil: I love my Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner Pencil in Rockstar. Deep dark Egg Plant color and Greens suit me well. Rockstar has some sheen to it, so I picked a matte purple shade. The color is Empire and it is beautiful!

Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro Primer: A friend of mine wants me to suggest her affordable makeup and skincare stuff. In hunt of a good drugstore primer, I started with Rimmel. I have heard good things about this. Once I try this and am convinced, I can suggest confidently.

Essence Long lasting Lipsticks: This is a brand at Ulta. Very very affordable and some of their products are really good! I recently picked two of their lipsticks in shade 05 Cool Nude and 06 Barely there. In the past I have tried their Silky Touch Blush and could not review it because just after single use, it conveniently made its way to a friend's makeup bag. So I picked the same color again.

Rimmel Exaggerate Full color Lip Liner: Drug store lip liners are the best liners. I have a few high end lip liners and I buy to try the brand and as a blogger to review, but honestly for lip liners, mascaras drugstore products work just fine.

Picked two shades from the Rimmel Exaggerate liner 063 East End Snob (some say it is dupe for the infamous lip liner in Pillow talk by Charlotte Tilbury) and 070 Enchantment. These are twist up pencils and very creamy!

Crabtree & Evelyn hand creams: A good hand cream is the one that moisturizes well and is not too greasy. This particular brand has a huge selection of hand creams in every available scents and they are wonderful. I found a whole box of these creams (set of 6) at Nordstrom Rack in their clearance section from the Holidays. Love me some good Bargain!

Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentre: I had heard almost every single makeup artist talking about this product. It is like a miracle staple in their kit. Target has started carrying this brand. I love Target! It is my little French Pharmacy here in the USA.

First Aid     Beauty (FAB) Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask: This mask had worked perfectly for me and my dry skin. It is gentle, effective and very basic. No frills and fancy. Just simple skincare. This is a re-purchase.

Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist: After phenomenal success of Pixi Glow Tonic and Pixi Mud Cleanser, the Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist is the third one I selected to try. This brand has great skincare. I am hopeful this will work as well.

I have already used a few of these and so far the results have been very good. Look out for the reviews in future blog posts.
