Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask - Review

A powerful, highly effective exfoliating treatment to address a dull, aging, and congested complexion.

This powerful yet gently exfoliating treatment works in three ways: exfoliates with pumpkin enzyme, peels with alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), and polishes with aluminum oxide. It reveals smoother, younger-looking, radiant, and revitalized skin

This is one of those products that show results instantly. I have been using this mask for more than a year and it has never failed to deliver.

This is an exfoliating mask, that peels the dead skin with the help of AHA (Alpha Hydroxy acid) and Enzymes. So it is better to use this during evenings, as exfoliation with acids and enzymes can make skin more sensitive to sun and in turn leading to pigmentation.

Color: Pumpkin Orange when it was very new, but after a month of use it turned Brown. It is still effective.

Texture and Consistency: Gritty, grainy slightly sticky gel

Scent: It smells of Pumpkin, like the filling of a pumpkin pie.

Application: I use it on bare, slightly moist skin. I take a nickel size dollop of this product and spread it all over my face. With slightly wet fingers, I massage the product gently in circular motion. I let it sit for few minutes (the recommended time is 3-7 minutes). I re-massage it again with wet fingers and then wash it off with water. I use it thrice a week.

Feel and Effect on Skin: On application and massage, the skin feels warm and there is tingling sensation. It is not the minty cool tingle, it is the warm slightly uncomfortable tingle. For the first few times, it was very uncomfortable and I could not manage to keep it for more than 5 minutes. Later uses made me more used to it and now I can comfortably handle the product for 10 minutes. I would not want to keep it longer than that. Also, the massaging has to be very gentle, because the grainy part is very sharp and abrasive. Wet fingers provide slip to the whole process.

The results after washing off the mask is amazing. The skin feels clean, bright, smooth and clear. The pores appear smaller and I have noticed my hyper pigmentation under control after using is thrice a week for a moth. The skin appears very bright and glowing and radiant.

Longevity: Luckily the effects of the mask are not just for few minutes or hours. It has improved the texture and tone of my skin to a great extent.

Packaging: This is a plain old, plastic tub packaging. I would have preferred a tube any day.

Verdict: This is a wonderful product. It can address any issue from dull, congested, uneven skin tone and texture to enlarged pores and hyperpigmentation. The Pumpkin Enzyme and AHA slough away the dead skin cells, making the skin appear radiant, glowing, bright and smooth.

Another fantastic product from Peter Thomas Roth. I just love the Peter Thomas Roth Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping Mask (review) and the Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask is another gem from the same brand. Peter Thomas Roth Vitamin C Brightening Moisturizer (review) and Vitamin C Brightening Serum (review) are two other products that I have tried from the brand and they are nice too, but not my very absolute favorites.
