YSL Rouge Volupte - #12 Forbidden Burgundy

YSL Rouge Volupte - #12 Forbidden Burgundy

An extremely smooth and creamy lipstick with a formula that transforms into a fluid veil of radiant color when it touches the lips.
One of these Yves Saint Laurent ROUGE VOLUPTÉ Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick SPF 15 is sure to be your new signature color: they're sensual, radiant, and strong. With shades that drench the lips with densely pigmented color and a unique color-shine complex, lips are visibly smoothed, plumped, and radiant with luminous satin color.
It's made with a long-lasting and highly comfortable formula that contains SPF 15.

My very first lipstick from this brand. At whopping $34 a piece, it took me some convincing to buy one. I tried my best to choose a color that would not be the regular mauvey, rosey pink that I am used to. At this price point I wanted something totally different.

YSL Rouge Volupte - #12 Forbidden Burgundy

Picked this color in #12 Forbidden Brugundy. I am not a very dark lip person. Dark colors look beautiful on skin tones like me, but if not carried with confidence, it can end up looking awkward and bad.

Color: This color is an stunning Burgundy Red more like Plum mixed with Burgundy. Love the color!! It is a very Opaque color.

Scent: Faintly scented. I could not pinpoint what the scent was, but it was not OTT or unpleasant or bothering at all.

Texture: The texture is super soft, super creamy. Creamy to the point of smooshing inside the tube and melting in car heat. It is pretty glossy and very moisturizing.

Application: On single swipe gives intense color, pretty much like in the tube. It glides beautifully and stay put for decent hours. It fades nicely leaving a good stain.

Swatch of YSL Rouge Volupte - #12 Forbidden Burgundy

Packaging: Top notch and most beautiful. It is a Gold Metal casing with a band of color that matches the inside of lipstick and then the Gold YSL logo. The cap also has a mirror. It is sheer luxury!!

I like the color and no matter how great the packaging is, I still don't think I will be buying multiple of these at this price point. It is good to own shades that are very unique in colors or just for the sake of experiencing high end luxury. I would suggest using a lip pencil from similar color family to avoid bleeding of a color as dark as this one.

Apart from price, I don't have any complains.

Do you own of these lipsticks? Which is your favorite color from the whole range of color selection?

Sibu Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil - Review

Me being such a huge fan of OILS, it is such a bummer that this product didn't work for me. I have absolutely no aversion to oils. Love Coconut, Almond, Jojoba, Olive, Argan Oils to name a few. I love smearing them on my body, face and hair. I have always noticed that no matter how good serums or multiple lotions and potions I apply, at the end the best and most lasting results are always achieved by a good blend of pure, rich quality oil. Also Oils are so easily available and affordable too, in comparison to some very expensive serums.

Sibu Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil

Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil has long been used as a traditional beauty treatment to preserve youthful Skin tone and testure. It is a secret to fight wrinkles and age spots. Our therapeutic grade seed oil will help restore damaged skin to its natural beautiful state.
Paraben Free and Cruelty free. No dairy, wheat, gluten, sodium, yeast or preservatives.

Color: Golden Yellow

Texture: Thick Oil, not as thick as Castor oil, but relatively thicker than ALmond, Jojoba and Argan Oils.

Fragrance: It is bad. Not really bad, but unpleasant and sharp. I can stand it, but I can see many people really hating it. This 'bad' smell lingers on.

Feel on Skin: It feels heavy on skin. Didn't sink in immediately like Argan Oil. It was eventually absorbed by the skin, just took some time. It did obviously moisturize, because it is an oil and slightly on thicker side. A little goes a long way and if used in excess quantity, the oil will just 'sit' on skin and not get absorbed completely. Spreads easily.

Effects on Skin: This thing clogged my pores. 2 days of use and I could see tiny pustules or white bumps. I didn't break out with big cystic acne or anything real bad (thankfully), but these pustules did bother me. I didn't give up and tried it again after a gap of a week, but same thing happened. I didn't dare to try again. The oil didn't give me any chance to try out its effect on sunspots, hyper pigmentation or minor scars.

Packaging: Just a regular, amber colored glass bottle with a dropper.

As much as I wanted to love Sibu Skincare products, they just refuse to love me. I tried their day time facial cream (here), but that too was an epic fail for me. I swear by their anti-oxidant capsules, which is something that works wonderfully. It is something that I take internally and when I stop using that, I can see some changes in my skin. They just become dull. I may be making this up, but I have to have one capsule a day for amazing results.

I cannot let this baby go waste, simply because I am biased when it comes to oil. I apply it on my feet and cover it with a sock. The smell is a problem or else I would have used it up by applying it on my neck as a neck oil.

I sincerely wish and hope Sibu people come out with a way to make it odourless or at least infuse it some with pleasant, light fragrance.

Have you tried this Oil or any other SIBU Products? Any favorites?

Disclaimer: This is a product purchased by me and the review is my personal experience with the product. It may or may not work for you. Please use the above mentioned oil or capsule at your own risk or consult a doctor.

Dazzling Wishlist - Beauty

This is going to be fun! My two friends have 'requested' me to 'post' a 'Beauty Wishlist'. LOL!

I love to buy my own Makeup and Fragrances.

Due to Dazzle 'n' Sparkle, I have loads of Beauty Products as it is, so I become super picky when buying them. This year the wishlist has products that I am curious to try, brands that I have never tried before. The Sephora In the Glow is on my Top Priority. It has so many lovely products!! I have tried a few and some are new. Burberry, YSL and Too Faced Lipsticks have some amazing colors and I wish to try these. I also need a good Powder Brush.

Hope you enjoy this list and Please do share what you have on your list (and you my friends... Send your list)

Have Fun Shopping!!!

Dazzling Wishlist - DECOR for HOME

There are tons and tons of gift giving ideas for hostess and home. I have been reading so many of these recently. I personally have chosen a few from them, I wish to buy or get as gift for my home. Hope you enjoy my cute picks.

MAC Warm Soul, NARS Luster Blush

MAC Warm Soul Blush

I have had this blush since this summer, but never got a chance to review it. I personally enjoy Plummy colors like Sin, Gentle or Neutrals like Melba, Buff etc in winter months and I reserve peachy and Bronzy colors for Summer.

MAC Warm Soul Blush (with Flash)

Last week I wore a Bronzy Smokey Eye and I really needed some color on cheeks, but something that was not flat matte. In came MAC Warm Soul Mineralized Blush!

Color: Warm Peachy color with some bronzy undertones. Very difficult to describe. It has some gold shimmers in it.

Texture: Soft, not powdery

Packaging: Flip top, transparent dome shaped cover, to actually see the color.

The blush is very finely milled and one of the best ever released by MAC. It was a part of Sonic Chic Collection and the color is permanent.

The color pay off is good and builable. This is something that I like about this color. It is such a color, that it can give the needed warmth to face, without making it bronzy or or peachy. This would work for most skintones.

It is easy to work with because it blends easily and justs looks so natural. The shimmers don't just sit on face giving the disco ball look. They melt in beautifully to give a warm glow. Can also be used as a highlighter over colors like Ginegerly and Melba if used sparingly, without building the color.

NARS Luster Blush (Similar color Family)

NARS Luster is my all time favorite Summer color. I find it very similar to MAC Warm Soul.

NARS Luster and MAC Warm Soul

NARS Luster has a bit more color pay off  and I would not use it as a highlighter, which I can do with Warm Soul.

Swatches of NARS Luster Blush and MAC Warm Soul Blush

Swatch: NARS Luster and MAC Warm Soul

Both are lovely products and permanent. I don't think you need both. Depending on the skintone, anyone should be fine.

Which one is your Favorite? Luster or Warm Soul?

Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub - Review

Washing with Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, while the antibacterial effects of lime and vodka is ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes. The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt and blockages.

I like this Product as a Body scrub, but I find it too harsh and abrasive as face scrub.

It contains both fine and coarse sea salt along with Fresh Lime extracted in Vodka, Coconut and Avocado as main ingredients along with many others. LUSH says it is more beneficial for combination to dry skin and can cause irritation to sensitive skin due to salt and citrus oils.

Ocean Salt - Face and Body Scrub

Color: Seafoam Green

Texture: Fluffy and Grainy

Consistency: Light and Creamy, with fine and Coarse Granules in it.

Application: I applied it on wet face, rubbed it gently in circular motion till the granules dissolved completely on its own. Later rinsed it with plain water.

Feel on Skin: It is very abrasive and it actually gave me burning sensation all over my face and sharp sting in certain areas that I believe were microscopic facial cuts that I must have given myself by scratching accidentally. After rinsing the burning sensation subsided and left the skin clean, but dry and stretchy.

Packaging: Black Plastic tub with lid. Not the most hygienic packaging. I would have preferred tube over tub.

I like using this as a Body Scrub. If I have to use it on my face, I dissolve some of the granules by rubbing them in between my palms and then applying it on my face. This way, the granules decrease in size and cause less irritation.

The product does stings the eyes if comes in contact and this tastes horrible too.

The product is OK, but not extraordinary or amazing. I prefer Sugar based Body scrub over Salt Scrubs. For face I really enjoyed the smooth feeling left by Origins Modern Friction or Origins 7 Day Scrub cream.

I can see this working good on Oily skin. For Acne prone skin or skin with active acne will experience burning sensation and might aggravate the problem.

Do get a sample from Lush Stores, before actually committing on a full size jar. Lush people are generous in giving samples.

This is my personal experience with the product. It may or may not work for you. I paid for this product.

Target + Neiman Marcus - Review

I actually had a small list when the pictures of the products from this Target + Neiman Marcus collaboration started to make rounds on various blogs. I was sure about buying these stuff after actually seeing them in person.

I didn't wait in line or went super early, though I did reach target by 8.40 AM which is pretty early for shopping for anything other than essentials and groceries.

Target was cool, well stocked and all the collection displayed in a designated small area, which was guarded by a security person and it made my son freak out.

The things were flying of shelf pretty quickly and one could easily spot sellers and people who actually were buying things for themselves.

Diane Von Frustenberg Jewelry box was on my list, so it went straight in my cart.

I like the box. It is well made and sturdy. The lid just sits on the box and does not snaps shut. This is something I really wish were different. It would had made the jewelry box more easy to travel with if ever needed and safe guard the jewelry itself. It is lined on the inner side by soft black felt kind of material and had some compartments.

Price was $49.99 plus Tax. A regular, 'good looking' jewelry box would cost around $25- $30 at TJMaxx or Marshalls, a place where one finds good but affordable stuff. So you pretty much pay $20 extra for Brand Name and a Unique look given to it aka Design which makes it Designer stuff. It would look good on Vanity Table and serve as a decor stuff too.

Tracy Reese Dessert Plates: My absolute favorite of all the things I picked. This was on my mind but not on my list. Someone had left a Box open, so I could actually see the colors of the plate. I am glad I put it in my cart without thinking much, because few minutes later the rack that carried this stuff was empty.

The colors are rich and the plate is really well made. The quality is awesome and there are no weird scratches or anything. Its just Perfect!!!

The 4 plates are $39.99, which I feel is very reasonably priced, especially when you see similar kind of stuff at Anthropologie or similar kind of stores. This would make a great hostess gift for the holidays. A good purchase for sure.

Carolina Herrera Travel Bags:

These are set of three Travel Bags and comes in 3 decent sizes. The material is nice. It is fabric outside and the lining is waterproof material. The print is cute and colorful. The zippers are really good and well made. This was never on my list. I just got sucked in by all the cuteness.

Usually one can get good Travel bags for $20-25 (set of 3). This one costed $39.99 plus Tax, which is OK. This would make a good gift and I guess that is what the whole purpose of this designer collaboration is.

Philip Crangi Trinket Box: I was sure I wanted this because I really like anything made of brass and looks Antique. My store had only 3 left. By next 5 minutes, none were left.

The box is heavy and very small. It is one of the most expensive items I picked other than the Sweater that i bought for my husband.

The box has good weight to it. The lid just sits on the box and does not snaps shut. This is one product that I really want to keep, but looking at the size and the price, I just don't know what to do. This one is whopping $69.99 and I think it is waay too over priced for the size. Also these things don't have much use. They are just cute.

Philip Crangi Photo Frame:

This one is pretty too and I didn't take it out of the box, because it is a gift. Looks very beautiful and I really hope I don't change my mind and end up keeping it for myself. This usually happens.

t was for $49.99, a little on pricey side.

Carolina Herrera Stationary set:

Seriously??? I know!!! But it was so cute!!! $19.99 for Fabric wrapped note pads and 3 pencils. My justification: Everyone needs note pads....Colorful note pads on table. This would make a good gift too.

Brian Atwood Sunglasses:

This too was never on my list and honestly I picked it because while I was at store, I read a few girls raving about it on Instagram. I knew this would never look good on my face, but I still picked it. It comes with a case and the sunglass itself is studded with rhinestones. Its a fun thing, but made me look like clown.
This is the only item that will be going back.

rag and bone men's sweater:
It looks nice. Feels thick and heavy. It appeared a bit rough to touch. I hope my husband likes it. This one was $69.99 plus tax.

There were some other things that were cute and amazing. The Altuzarra Tray was super Awesome and if I had a real house and not tiny apartment, I would have purchased it. It was so heavy!!! Loooked super sexy and elegant. Infact, the whole Altuzarra line of products were awesome. I won't be surprised if these would make their way to decor blogs.
Marc Jacobs Bag was Ok, but it was not too cool. The Scarf was soft too, but why Black??? I wish they had some design on it. Similarly I have no idea why they asked Tory Burch to design a Beverage Container and Tiffin Box. Nothing extraordinary. Proenza Schouler ipad sleeve was on my list, but I didn't like the material.

There were Holiday Ornaments, Gloves and many other stuff too, but I didn't pick them.
These are my honest opinion about the products I purchased.

Did you guys pick anything from this collaboration? What do you think about them?

Target + Neiman Marcus - Preview

Picked these awesome goodies...

Next post will follow Photos, Reviews and my thoughts on the goodies I picked. Also my absolute favorites from the whole lot!
Overall the collection is nice and I was happy with the way my Target was well stocked. There was security around the displayed area and absolutely no Chaos, though things were flying off the shelf very quickly!

Neiman Marcus website shows many things sold out, though Target website has lots of them. If you like something in store just keep it in your cart and you can think later while you buy milk and bread.

Enjoy this Instagram Pic.. :)
