Tom Ford Nude Dip is Permanent!

Tom Ford Beauty Eye Color Quad, Nude Dip Tom Ford $79

Yep! This beautiful, sold out Tom Ford eye shadow quad is permanent now!

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Clinical Concentrate Radiance Booster™ (review)

A professional-strength time-released concentrate that can be mixed into your favorite products to enhance their benefits, or used alone to visibly optimize skin’s healthy appearance for a refreshed, youthful, radiant complexion.

This radiance-boosting microdroplet formula introduces a unique complex of three acids—pyruvic, tartaric, and linoleic—to reveal resurfaced, firmed, and luminous skin. It can be applied directly to the face for a transformed complexion, mixed with makeup for boosted performance, or mixed with skincare product to enhance benefits.

Formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Phthalates

This product is vegan and cruelty-free.

This is a part of the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Clinical Concentrate Boosters™ value set.
This set contains:
- 0.5 oz Radiance Booster
- 0.5 oz Hydration Booster (review)
- 0.5 oz Purifying Booster

Excuse the hazy pics. By the time I realized, I had already used up the product and the container was empty to re-click.

Color: Creamy white

Texture and Consistency: Smooth, non-sticky, not too thick, not too watery, lotion like liquid.

Scent: This has a mild scent which is pleasant. I cannot pin point what it is, but it definitely is not over powering or weird.

Application: I applied this directly on my face and neck. Just 2-3 drops were more than enough to cover the whole face. It spread very easily and remained tacky for 30 seconds or so. later it dried down to a smooth finish. I used this only once a day at night, but later used it twice a day for  week.

Feel on Skin: On application it was tacky for few seconds, but later it dried down. The skin felt smooth, not slippery silicone smooth, but smooth (did I make any sense here)

Effect on Skin: My face appeared smooth and that is it. There was no additional plumpness, firming or radiance. The thin layer of smoothness can be called as firmness, but I don't think that it was noticeable enough.

Packaging: A glass bottle with a simple dropper. I like that it is a simple and fuss free dropper. The color of the bottle is Gorgeous. I am planing a DIY using these empty bottles. (just a useless info)

Verdict: This is one of those products I neither hate nor love. I am totally indifferent about it. Even though loaded with some wonderful ingredients and some not so awesome ones, this just did not do anything noticeable for my skin. As a "radiance booster" I was expecting some visible radiance, even if it is for an hour or so, but unfortunately it failed to deliver the claims it made to provide a resurfaced, luminous and firm skin. Another concern of mine was the presence of Retinol which usually makes the skin more sensitive to sunlight. Again it depends on the percentage of Retinol present. So I was not confident to use it under makeup during daytime. I did use it during the day for a week for reviewing, and it did not mess up with my make up at all. It did not dry out my skin even though it has Salicylic acid, but it didn't moisturize it either. It was just like any basic lotion. It did give some smoothness though. I don't have visible open pores, so I cannot say that it reduced the appearance of enlarged pores.

At this price point, I was expecting Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Clinical Concentrate Radiance Booster™ to give me some 'visible' results (read radiant). It was just an unnecessary addition to my skincare regimen. I am not one to judge a product harshly, but I think after using so many skincare products, I just have become very specific and border line picky with what I choose and what the product delivers. Not too impressed with this one.

Beauty Buys - Sephora Favorites (Hair, Travel, Sun safety)

'BEAUTY BUYS' is just another term coined for the infamous 'HAUL'. It is the list of things I buy, try and the ones you will hear me 'yak', 'blab', 'review' about in next few posts!!! Call this a 'Preview'..

An ardent fan of value sets and kits, I look forward for Sephora Favorites releases. These are great way to try many products in deluxe sample sizes before committing to full size ones. I, for once hate to return products just after using them once or swatching them and then returning just because I didn't like the color. I mean if it breaks me out or I get some weird reaction I try to find some use for it (using skincare products as foot cream) but if it is something like a hair product I have to return it.

These kits are usually awesome. The selection of brands and products are pretty good and so are the sizes. Occasionally I have found few sets not up to the mark or not worth the money, especially in the sizes or color department. But for the most part they are well worth giving  a try.

Currently Sephora has some decent Sephora Favorites kit and few that caught my fancy were in my shopping cart.

Sephora Favorites Ultimate Hair Essentials : This kit is really a very good kit. Firstly, finding the perfect hair care product is as difficult as finding a good color match for foundation and concealer. The huge and expensive hair products go absolutely waste if they don't work. This kit as the name suggests is a complete kit dedicated to hair care. It has a few of my absolute favorite products namely the Alterna® CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Replenishing Moisture Shampoo and Alterna® CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Replenishing Moisture Conditioner. Great to have them in deluxe travel sizes. Also I was curious to try the Bumble and bumble Prêt-à-Powder, Living Proof® Prime Style Extender and Phyto Huile Soyeuse Lightweight Hydrating Oil. Well pretty much everything!

The set has 11 hair essential products in very generous sizes.
It includes luxurious products like nourishing shampoos and conditioners, frizz-fighting stylers, hydrating oils, and multitasking hairsprays.

This set contains:
- 2 oz Wen® by Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner
- 1.35 oz Alterna® CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Replenishing Moisture Shampoo
- 1.35 oz Alterna® CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Replenishing Moisture Conditioner
- 2 oz Living Proof® Prime Style Extender
- 1 oz Phyto Huile Soyeuse Lightweight Hydrating Oil
- 2 oz Living Proof® Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment
- 1.7 oz Drybar Hot Toddy Heat & UV Protectant
- 2 oz Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray
- 3 oz Living Proof® Flex Shaping Hairspray
- 1.67 oz Drybar Triple Sec 3-in-1
- 0.5 oz Bumble and bumble Prêt-à-Powder

Lovely set and well worth the price. Great to travel with too.

All the products again are very generous in size except for the Origins GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream. I have heard good things about this eye cream and as eye creams are used sparingly, the tiny size would last for good amount of time.

This set contains:
- 1.5 oz Algenist GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Melting Cleanser
- 1 oz First Aid Beauty® Face Cleanser
- 0.5 oz Kate Somerville® ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment
- 0.5 oz Ole Henriksen® Truth Serum Collagen Booster
- 0.5 oz Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream
- 0.17 oz Origins GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream
- 0.5 oz Glamglow® Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment
- 0.34 oz Vita Liberata Neroli & Argan Milk Broad Spectrum SPF 50
- 2 oz Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Sweet Citrus
- 2 oz Living Proof® Perfect Hair Day™ Shampoo
- 2 oz Living Proof® Perfect Hair Day™ Conditioner
- 0.85 oz Alterna Caviar CC Cream for Hair
- Travel bag

Good kit and well worth the price tag.

My third and last pick from Sephora Favorites was the Sun Safety Kit. The kit has 16 products and honestly most of these are are really very tiny. These come in a huge travel bag which is clear and reusable. It has selection of good quality sunscreens and this was the only reason I picked the kit. These sunscreens are really expensive and getting to try these in their mini versions is any skincare junkie and beauty blogger's dream come true. Murad® Invisiblur™ Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30Supergoop!® City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30, Peter Thomas Roth Max Sheer All Day Moisture Defense® Lotion SPF 30 are few products that I am excited to try. My absolute favorite sunscreen at the moment is Kiehl's Since 1851 Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+ and i hope to find something new with this set.

This set contains:
- 0.2 oz AmorePacific Natural Protector SPF 30
- 0.3 oz Clarins UV Plus Anti-Pollution Broad Spectrum SPF 50
- 0.5 oz Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30 in Light Medium
- 0.25 oz Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare™ Dark Spot Sun Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen
- 0.17 oz Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45
- 0.08 oz Fresh® Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15
- 0.5 oz Josie Maran Cosmetics Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 47
- 0.34 oz Korres Yoghurt Nourishing Fluid Veil Broad Spectrum SPF 30
- 0.17 oz Murad® Invisiblur™ Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30
- 0.1 oz Ole Henriksen total truth™ eye crème SPF 15
- 0.5 oz Origins VitaZing™ Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Energy-Boosting Moisturizer with Mangosteen
- Peter Thomas Roth Max Sheer All Day Moisture Defense® Lotion SPF 30
- 0.6 oz Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 50+ WetForce Broad Spectrum Water Resistant (80 Minutes)
- 1.69 oz St. Tropez One Night Only in Light-Medium
- 0.34 oz Supergoop!® City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30
- 0.34 oz Vita Liberata Passion Flower & Argan Dry Oil Broad Spectrum SPF 50
- Travel bag

Also Sephora donates $20 from the sale of this kit to the Skin Cancer Foundation to support education programs. So something good about buying this set!

At last but not the least when you shop like crazy you accumulate points and more points! Perks of VIB Rouge! I picked the Marc Jacobs set with 3 eye products and a lipstick. The lip color is Magenta and not Red and this makes me so so happy, because I don't enjoy red lipstick as much as I enjoy mauve and magenta. They just look better on me.

Excellent sets with excellent selection. I am super curious to try this and hope to find new gems that work wonders! Will be reviewing these as and when I try and will share my thoughts.

Beauty Buys - Chantecaille, Sulwhasoo, Too Faced, Tarte, boscia, Alterna

'BEAUTY BUYS' is just another term coined for the infamous 'HAUL'. It is the list of things I buy, try and the ones you will hear me 'yak', 'blab', 'review' about in next few posts!!! Call this a 'Preview'..

A bunch of products that I have picked in the past few weeks. Already shared a few of these on Instagram. To avoid this post getting very photo heavy, the Beauty Buys post is split into two parts.

Goodies I picked

Sulwhasoo is a brand which is very new to me and I had never tried anything from this brand before. The beautiful blogger of Natural n Chic Makeup loves this Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask and on her recommendation I ordered this from Neiman Marcus. I have tried it a few times and so far I am liking it. I will use it for few more times before actually reviewing and sharing my thoughts on the product.

Space NK had a promotion a few weeks back where they had some $20 off $75 and I took this opportunity to order two absolutely unnecessary, insanely expensive items.

DIPTYQUE Scented Candles that every single person who is into Lifestyle and Beauty blogging raves and raves and raves!! They rave about the scent and more than that it is the empty candle jar that makes great "fancy props" for clicking pictures. I chose Baies Scented Candle as it had floral and fruity scents mixed.
Now it does smells good for sure. Is it worth the price? Will I buys again? Well, that is something we will leave for discussion later in some other post.

Chantecaille: I have tried this brand before. A little more on the pricey end, some products from this luxury line are good. I usually have trouble finding face products that involves color matching (concealer, foundation, CC creams) from this brand, but the highlighters, blushes usually are finely milled and they give more natural results on face. This time around I chose Chantecaille 'Brilliant' Gloss in shade 'Lucky'. I wanted something very neutral, very wearable.

Tarte: This brand is awesome. I love their products and also their price range. Not insanely expensive the brand usually comes up with multiple sets and kits making it affordable to own quality makeup. Also great way to try products before committing to full size ones. Tartelette 101 Discovery Set is an excellent set and it was released around the time for Mother's day.

The set includes:
Deluxe Maracuja Oil (0.23 fl. oz.)
Deluxe Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess (0.11 oz.)
Deluxe Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara (0.13 fl. oz.)
Deluxe Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Prim (plum nude) (0.05 oz.)
Deluxe LipSurgence Lip Crème in Divine (nude mauve) (0.056 oz.)

This is still available at many Ulta Stores, though it shows Out of Stock online.

There are other sets as well from the Brand and one palette that stands out is the Poppy Picnic Limited Edition Amazonian Clay Eye & Cheek Palette

Too Faced: Another decent brand with decent price point. I literally find it difficult to breathe when I order something that is insanely expensive (hello Diptyque). They came with a new Primer. Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer. I went shopping around the time when Chicago weather was acting crazy and so was my skin. The whole description of the primer made me want to slather it on my face (I love oils and products that promise hydration). Dry skin people!!
I have already used this product a lot and will update my thoughts very soon on this blog.

Alterna: The Caviar line from the brand works for me and I am so happy that it works!! It is very difficult to find a good hair care product that works. I love the ALTERNA CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Replenishing Moisture Shampoo, ALTERNA CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Replenishing Moisture Conditioner and ALTERNA Caviar CC Cream for Hair 10-in-1 Complete Correction. I had tried every single thing in a small trial kit before and since then everything has been bought full size.

Love it! Reviews to follow soon!

boscia: I am a huge fan of value kits, trial kits and those Sephora Favorites. boscia is a brand that has been throwing many products from their skincare line in many of these kits and sets. I discovered two wonderful products by trying these trial and deluxe sizes. boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil is a star product (review) and I have been liking the boscia Luminizing Black Mask as well.
I recently got a chance to try their Tsubaki Beauty Oil in a tiny deluxe sample and I liked how light weight it was. I thought it would be great for Summers, when I prefer to stay away from heavy oils. So I picked the boscia Tsubaki Beauty Oil along with boscia Tsubaki Cleansing Oil-gel and boscia
Tsubaki Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask ( not that I needed the later ones)

I have started using few of these as I had already tried samples and loved them. Some are under testing process and the remaining ones are retained for use during the summers.

Will soon be reviewing these goodies.

Have you lovelies picked anything exciting recently? Any current favorites?

BOSCIA Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil (Review)

An effectively gentle way to deeply cleanse, this refreshing cleansing oil melts impurities and makeup without leaving an oily residue.

This effective formula gently melts impurities and makeup, including waterproof, without leaving an oily residue. It is formulated with antioxidants and botanicals to soothe and protect skin. Hydrangea leaf helps to purify skin and minimize pores, geranium helps invigorate skin while supporting natural circulation, and botanical amino acids leave skin smooth and free of impurities.

Formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Phthalates

This product is dermatologist tested and ideal for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It is free of preservatives, artificial fragrance, color, gluten, and ethanol alcohol.

Color: Clear with slight whitish haze but clear for the most part.

Texture and Consistency: Light weight, neither too thick or nor too runny oil

Scent/Fragrance: Pleasant, very light minty. Not at all over powering. The scent pretty much disappears on application.

Application: I apply one to one and half pumps of this oil directly on dry skin. (This is important as it would not work effectively on wet skin). Massage it gently all over the face in circular motion and let it sit for about 30-45 seconds. Then I use warm water  to massage over it and the oil emulsifies to a milky liquid like thing, breaking down all the make up. I later rinse it with water till completely clean.

Feel on Skin: The skin feels slightly cool. On application the oil spreads pretty easily due to the consistency. It did not sting the eye nor it has any bitter taste if it gets into the mouth by chance. It is not tacky or sticky on face.

Effect on Skin: The product removes makeup almost completely. It literally dissolves all the traces of makeup. I would say 95%. I usually use kohl and tight line the waterline, so a little bit of eyeliner is often left. On rinsing, it does leave a light greasy residue and I personally like to double cleanse with a facial cleanser as it is. So it is not a big issue. I just prefer to apply my serums or creams on clean, bare face.

Packaging: I love the packaging. It is very practical and well made. Firstly, I like that there is a pump with a clip or stopper that prevents spill while travelling. Also the nozzle of the bottle it long enough to avoid any dripping of oil on the bottle. I am not sure if I am able to explain it but the packaging is very functional and practical.

Verdict: I love this product. It does not smell funky like the NUDE Skincare Perfect Cleanse Clarifying Cleansing Oil  (review) nor thick like the Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil (review). The ingredients are really good and soothing. The cleanser is very close to my absolute favorite Shu Uemura Cleansing Oils

A huge thumbs up in my book.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Sens'Eyes - Waterproof Sensitive Eye Cleanser

A mineral oil-free, gel makeup remover for eyes and lips.

Instantly removes impurities and even waterproof makeup on the most sensitive eyes, and works well for contact lens wearers. Moisturizes and soothes eyelids. Extremely effective and incredibly gentle, this lightweight cleanser won't leave the eyelids feeling greasy.

Dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested.

I picked this product a few months back when I went to Sephora to color match myself with a new concealer. The makeup artist tried two shades under my eyes and then later she used this eye makeup remover to wipe off the product. I loved how quickly and effectively it removed everything without making the under eye area feel dry. The Makeup artist was raving how she finds this remover best among all the eye makeup removers in the store.

Color: Baby Blue

Texture and Consistency: Soft, light weight, non greasy, non slippery or runny, lotion like consistency

Scent: None detected

Application: I apply it with fingers all around my eyes and eye lids. On application is just melts and turns into clear, water like consistency. Leave it for 30 seconds and then wipe it off with a damp cotton pad. I love the Shiseido Facial Cotton (review). When I am wearing just a liner, I use a cotton bud saturated with the product and run in along the line of the liner. For lips I use the same technique as I use to remove eye makeup.

Feel on eyes: It feels soft, no stinging or burning sensation. No dryness after removing the product. The eye area feels hydrated and not dry.

Effect on Eyes: It removes every bit of eye makeup. Works well on water proof mascara that I layer on like crazy! The area around the eyes does not feel dry and the product does not leaves a residue or clouds my vision by leaving a film.

Packaging: I picked a small bottle from the 'aisle of doom' at Sephora. I love this term 'aisle of doom' used by many YouTubers. Small bottle is a light weight, sturdy plastic with a pump and the lid that snugs fit. It is very easy to travel with.

Verdict: Absolutely wonderful product! This MAKE UP FOR EVER Sens'Eyes - Waterproof Sensitive Eye Cleanser is a boon for anyone who has sensitive eyes and dryness under the eye area. I have tried Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lip and Balms Away by the Balm (review) and honestly both of them do their job well. The formula and consistency of all these three products are totally different. The Clinique one is an oily liquid, while the Balm one is a thick vaseline like Balm. This Make Up For Ever one is a lotion like product and I love this more for its light weight consistency. Also this does not leave any greasy residue. Just perfect!

Fresh Rose Face Mask (Review)

Fresh Rose Face Mask

A hydrating and toning mask with a cooling gel formula infused with pure rosewater and real rose petals.

Historically romantic and classically fragrant, the rose flower yields a precious oil brimming with nutrients that naturally soothe the skin and stimulate the senses. Infused with 50 percent pure rosewater and an average of two-and-a-half roses per jar, this unique mask restores radiance and suppleness to all skin types. The addition of cucumber extract and aloe vera reduce inflammation and calm the skin, while green tea helps brighten and protect.

This is an old purchase. Tried, tested and much enjoyed product. I picked this long back and it was part of this wonderful kit that introduced me to another of my absolute favorite product Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil
Last weekend we had good weather in Chicago and I did a lot of yard work, planting shrubs and all that kind of outdoor, in the sun chores. My skin felt a bit irritated and I used this mask to cool things down. I thought it was time to document this product on the blog.

Color: Amber brown with bits of wilted, brown rose petals

Texture and Consistency: Thick, smooth, non slippery, non sticky gel with bits of rose petals

Scent: Pleasant rose scent, not over powering. I like it.

Application: I apply a medium thin layer all over my clean face using finger tips, avoiding the immediate area around the eyes. Let is sit for about 20 minutes or so and then wash it off with plain water. I follow it with a moisturizer or a serum or any skincare product that is in use.

Feel on Skin: This feels cold on the skin. Not minty, tingling cool, but cold. The product is a gel, so it spreads easily and does not dries completely like a mud mask. There is light tackiness, but other than that no stretchy or tight feeling. No itching or warm sensation.

Effect on Skin: The skin feels soft and nice. I don't find it super hydrating but it tones down the redness. It did not clog pores or break me out which is good.

Packaging: This comes in a heavy glass jar, with wide mouth and twist of lid. Looks good. I scoop out the needed amount with a spatula rather than sticking my finger in the jar.

Verdict: This is not the most phenomenal, product in terms of immediate results. I don't see much glow or radiance on my face, (it is not meant to do so). Instead this is one of those cooling, relaxing, feel good, pamper product for tired facial skin. I really enjoy this when my face is really messed up. Especially when there is redness, mild irritation due to some new product or when my skin feels dry after using the Clarisonic Skin cleansing system. The ingredients in this are very soothing and calming. The product does not cures redness, but calms it, if that makes any sense. Also it does not feels heavy or tight on skin, no clogging of pores, so it can be used very often, almost every single day. I also use it in combination with other mask as well. The scent is very clean and refreshing and gives a very spa like feeling. I have a very super dry skin, so I don't find it very moisturizing or hydrating, but I love the freshness it provides. I used it a lot during hotter months. It does not cures sunburns, but it definitely soothes and refreshes my skin.

Not a must have, but a good product to have around for those 'pamper me' times. I would not repurchase but won't mind if it comes in a kit. It is not my absolute favorite, but I like it.

Some other cooling masks that I have tried and loved.
