Fresh Rose Face Mask (Review)

Fresh Rose Face Mask

A hydrating and toning mask with a cooling gel formula infused with pure rosewater and real rose petals.

Historically romantic and classically fragrant, the rose flower yields a precious oil brimming with nutrients that naturally soothe the skin and stimulate the senses. Infused with 50 percent pure rosewater and an average of two-and-a-half roses per jar, this unique mask restores radiance and suppleness to all skin types. The addition of cucumber extract and aloe vera reduce inflammation and calm the skin, while green tea helps brighten and protect.

This is an old purchase. Tried, tested and much enjoyed product. I picked this long back and it was part of this wonderful kit that introduced me to another of my absolute favorite product Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil
Last weekend we had good weather in Chicago and I did a lot of yard work, planting shrubs and all that kind of outdoor, in the sun chores. My skin felt a bit irritated and I used this mask to cool things down. I thought it was time to document this product on the blog.

Color: Amber brown with bits of wilted, brown rose petals

Texture and Consistency: Thick, smooth, non slippery, non sticky gel with bits of rose petals

Scent: Pleasant rose scent, not over powering. I like it.

Application: I apply a medium thin layer all over my clean face using finger tips, avoiding the immediate area around the eyes. Let is sit for about 20 minutes or so and then wash it off with plain water. I follow it with a moisturizer or a serum or any skincare product that is in use.

Feel on Skin: This feels cold on the skin. Not minty, tingling cool, but cold. The product is a gel, so it spreads easily and does not dries completely like a mud mask. There is light tackiness, but other than that no stretchy or tight feeling. No itching or warm sensation.

Effect on Skin: The skin feels soft and nice. I don't find it super hydrating but it tones down the redness. It did not clog pores or break me out which is good.

Packaging: This comes in a heavy glass jar, with wide mouth and twist of lid. Looks good. I scoop out the needed amount with a spatula rather than sticking my finger in the jar.

Verdict: This is not the most phenomenal, product in terms of immediate results. I don't see much glow or radiance on my face, (it is not meant to do so). Instead this is one of those cooling, relaxing, feel good, pamper product for tired facial skin. I really enjoy this when my face is really messed up. Especially when there is redness, mild irritation due to some new product or when my skin feels dry after using the Clarisonic Skin cleansing system. The ingredients in this are very soothing and calming. The product does not cures redness, but calms it, if that makes any sense. Also it does not feels heavy or tight on skin, no clogging of pores, so it can be used very often, almost every single day. I also use it in combination with other mask as well. The scent is very clean and refreshing and gives a very spa like feeling. I have a very super dry skin, so I don't find it very moisturizing or hydrating, but I love the freshness it provides. I used it a lot during hotter months. It does not cures sunburns, but it definitely soothes and refreshes my skin.

Not a must have, but a good product to have around for those 'pamper me' times. I would not repurchase but won't mind if it comes in a kit. It is not my absolute favorite, but I like it.

Some other cooling masks that I have tried and loved.
