Peach/Peachy Pink Blush - (Comparison photos)

I recently picked a Peach colored blush/highlighter from CARGO Blu-Ray series.

CARGO Peach Blush

CARGO Peach blush is a beautiful, very finely milled Peach colored powder with gold flecks. The color is very light and it didn't show up on me much on its own. It was great as a highlighter over top of my Illamasqua cream blush in Rude.

Few comparisons of Peach/Peachy Pink blushes that I have.

Blushes in Deep Throat, Hot Mama, Fun n Games, Lover

Blushes in Spaced Out, Sunset Beach, Peach, Nuance

I tried to swatch these and take some good pictures, but the camera didn't capture the shades well. I will try again later sometime.

Hope you enjoy the photos....

CARGO Eyelighter in Gold -- Review

This was a totally unexpected buy. As I had mentioned in my past post that I didn’t even knew that this product existed.

CARGO Eyelighter in Gold

What exactly is this eye lighter??

EyeLighter™ simplifies the age-old makeup artist trick of widening and
brightening eyes through white shadow application along the corners and rims of
eyes. Pointed tip applies the matte white shadow to the outer corners of the
eyes, under the brows, and to the lower lash line for instant lift. The rounded
tip applies soft, shimmering white shadow to the inner corners to open and
brighten eyes.

Sponge Tip Applicator for Inner Corner

This is a dual sided eyeshadow, that has sponge tips. It looks like a pen. Firstly I couldn’t figure out as where the eyeshadow was…but then I came to know that the eyeshadows were inside the caps of the applicator. All I need to do is pull the cap off and the sponge tip applicator is saturated with eyeshadow. One side of the pen has matte shadow and is supposed to be used on the outer corner of the eye and highbrow while the other side has shimmery shadow and is used on the inner corner of the eye. The end result is a bright and awake eye. The eyes appear wide when applied in the inner corners and just gives this ultra fine, sexy look.

Sponge Tip Applicator for Outer Corner

Its not something that is unique. I could easily achieve similar look/effect using any of my light, shimmery eye shadows. The only difference I noticed was the texture. The shimmery side is soo finely milled, that the end result is very chic and polished.
I like the fact that the container is very portable and easy to use. The applicator thought I feel should had been a bit more precise. The applicator for the outer corner is ok, but the inner corner one is too wide and if not careful, it deposits a whole lot of product and then there is a shimmery mess which can ruin the whole make-up!

Swatches for CARGO Eyelighter in GOLD

I used my fingers to blend it. I don't think it can be used under the eyes to reduce the apperance of dark circles, as it can be too shiny and shimmery. I tried using very very little amount under my eyes, but then it settled in my fine lines, which was not so flattering.

The color in Gold was a perfect choice as Pink would had never complimented my complexion and white would had been too White.
I would not say it’s a must have product, but it sure is a very good, handy and useful one. At a discounted rate of $10, worth giving a try!!
p.s: I read on Makeup Alley that this gave a lovely effect in photographs, though I have yet to photograph myself wearing this. Also Blake Lively of Gossip Girl usually has similar kind of shimmery eyeshadow in her inner corners. This too was observed by someone else and yessss…. It’s a perfect example!!
Disclaimer: This is my purchase and my personal review.

CARGO at Sephora is having a 50% off sale. I came to know about this last week or so by Sephora mails, but then everything online was sold out. I assumed everything at store must have vanished too. Who would leave a 50% off sale??
I was pleasantly surprised to see some good stuff on my Sephora shelf when I got a chance to visit the store this Sunday.

There was this Blu-Ray lit/gift set. It included a Peach blush, Bronzer, Lipgloss and a Mascara. All for $24.50. It was a good deal because a blu-ray blush itself costs around $28.

I didn't use the Bronzer, but the color looks good to me. It is not too shimmery or Orange. A full review will be definately posted...please give me some time.

I had used a Pink Blush/Highlighter from the same Blu-Ray line before and honestly it worked more of a Highligher for my skin tone. Peach too looks pretty light to me. I will post comparisons of some some peach and pinky peach blushes soon.

This eyelighter is a new product. I had not even heard about it. At store I over heard some girls chatting as how this was a lovely and useful product. They grabbed all the 3 colors. I blindly opted for Gold shade. The white shade looked very much like MAC Vanilla pigment to me. The pink shade was sold out. I used this product only once. Its cool. Easy to use. Just have to clik some pictures and I will talk about this tomorrow, positively!

This Lipgloss was included in the blu-ray kit. It has this unusual funky cap, with some kind of indicator, that tells when the lipgloss is about to get over. I don't know how it exactly works. Yet to read the whole instruction sheet it came with...lol!!!

My past experience with CARGO blushes were very good. I own Rome and Sunset Beach. I love them both equally. I think Cargo blushes are comparable to NARS. Amazing pigmentation and staying power. Miami Beach blush was always on my wishlist. At $13/14, I call it a steal!!!!!!

This blu-ray mattifier is my holy grail item in summer. I just love it!! It was part of a kit back when I had bought, but to buy it alone at $28 was little bit too steep. This was perfect time to stock up on. I bought two at $13 each....not bad, right??

You all must be wondering that in this post I didn't had any review or swatches or comparisons...so whats the point of this hurried post??
My main intention was to throw light on the fact that Sephora stores still have some cool CARGO left on their shelf. CARGO brand is not going away from the market. It still will be available at Sephora inside JC Penny and at ULTA. Maybe you all would like something and would want to try it at a little discounted price...well, not so little....its 50% off...

MAC 168 Large Angled Contour Brush (Review)

We all have seen a huge brush review series by Temptalia. Either ways we get to see everything there...but I thought I would share my observation and feelings about this brush.

MAC 168 SE vs MAC 168 Regular

The Brush Bristles: The bristles are white, made of Goat hair. They are incredibly soft and not at all pokey. The tip is rounded and it is a perfect brush for contouring the cheeks, jaw line, forhead and giving defination to the face. The brush is fluffy enough to cover the large areas for contouring. The fibres are bundled firmly and that just keeps every hair in place.

Note the bristles
The full size brush is handmade and they retail for $32 USD. The handle is black, made of wood and the ferrules are nickel plated made of brass. This is high quality. Even after regular cleaning or water contact the metal does not 'rusts'.
Now, I had a SE MAC 168 brush, which usually comes in Holiday kits anad sets. Those are machine made. Many make-up lover say the quality of SE brushes are not good. I would say that is not the case with this one. (for me personally)
As you can see the SE brush is more fluffy and wide spread than the full size. I personally use 168 brush for contouring the hollows of my cheek and due to the fluffiness of SE 168, it gives me a more flawless and natural blended look, rather than a 'streak'.
I didn't notice much difference in the softness of the bristles either. I would say these two brushes perform the same task for me. For someone who needs to contour the face to give a 'chisled' effect, I guess 168 full size is a better choice. It would not work for contouring nose, as its too big for that job.
MAC brushes though expensive are an investment. I have seen many good quality brushes from various brands. Brushes like MAC 168 are pretty much found in every brand. Its not a unique brush, but a pretty helpful one.

MAC CCO Goodies - Set 2

This is part two of the CCO goodies I bought. I had some nice positive comments for CCO stuff. I am glad, no one sent me a 'hate' comment saying I 'spend' and hauls are 'show-off' or 'brag post'.

Thank you all 'enjoying' simple hauls!

MAC Brushes in 205 n 168, Dazzleglass in Date Night, Lipliners in Gingerroot,
Sublime Culture.

My CCO has some good brushes. Usually MAC brushes are pretty expensive and buying Face Brushes by paying full price kinda hurts my pocket. So when I saw 168 brush, I picked it as I thought its high time I should build a decent brush collection. I had 168 SE brush and everyone used to say SE brushes are not a great as Full size brushes. I did my little comparison and I will talk about it in detail later this week.
MAC 205 brush is a unique brush. I had never seen anything like this one. I did buy it and its fun to use. Its a Fan brush for mascara...cute and firm...We will discuss brushes later. Colors are fun to share. Tools are essential but boring...lol!!

Magenta/Pink Lipglosses

I bought a Dazzleglass. Its strange to even think that I never owned a DG before. Especially because I like MAC and own some good products from the brand. Last time I picked one was from CCO and it was this Gold colored one. I think it was called Miss Dynamite.....and hated it. I still have it lying somewhere...This brings me to one question...What to do with un-used, good quality make-up? What do you all do with the make-up you buy on impulse but later don't get much use out of it? Please drop your suggestions in the comment section...Back to our make-up talk...
Miss Dynamite was too gritty on lips and glittery. The glitter chunks were huge and they travelled all around my lips because I have this habit of smacking the lips together often.
Date Night Dazzleglass on the other hand is less gritty, but even here the chunks are pretty much big. I just picked it becasue the glitter chunks were very berry/magenta colored and they looked pretty...They would work well with many of lip stuff I have. I will avoid smacking lips...

Swatches of lipglosses: Fierce n Fabulous, Date Night Dazzleglass, Smashbox
Radiant, MAC Hot Frost, MAC MAgnetique and Buxom Dani

Admiring Dazzleglasses.....

This is a 100% 'show-off' picture and totally unnecessary....I was so impressed by Xinarox's pics of all her Dazzleglasses, Dazzlecremes all together which she had cliked last year, that I just wanted to clik a similar kind of picture. Once the pictures were cliked, I kept admiring all the little tubes and my son thought I was crazy...

MAC Lipliner is Sublime Culture and Gingerroot

I am cheapo when it comes to lipliners. I always find drugstore lipliners work very good. I had heard some make-up artsit use MAC Gingerroot on a celebrity. So at a discounted price I was tempted to try MAC Lipliners. I picked one in Gingerroot and an other one in Sublime Culture.
Well, they are soft and pigmented. They last long, but nothing very unique...I would get similar results using my drugstore lipliners and at drugstore price, I could afford a large variety of colors too. I probably would buy a MAC creamstick liner only if the color is ultra unique.
So, this was my part two of CCO goodies...Like every other make-up junkie, I too get carried away while buying make-up. Honestly, there are very few products that I need, rest all is 'just lemming'....When I come back home after buying stuff, I regret spending on dupes and other stuff...but then I guess we all do the same thing...thats the reason we are here....Beauty Blogging...lol!!!

Good Morning Friends…

Hope everyone is shining bright!
My week passed by so quickly!!! Everything was cool Health wise…Wealth wise, not so cool…
Sephora is having 50% off on Cargo products… Most of the stuff online was sold…So I didn’t paid much attention. On Sunday, I was ‘just strolling’ in Sephora and found my counter had some stuff available…So I hauled a little. So don’t hate me if I share some Cargo haul this week….Also, invites for my son’s fifth Birthday have been sent and I am happy that his friends have started confirming…
I started trying on this Body lotion sent to me by a PR company. Lets see how it works on me. I will keep you posted on this.
Rest all cool….
Wish you all a fun filled week ahead…

MAC, CLINIQUE CCO Goodies...(Set One)

I don’t know how helpful CCO purchase posts are. I personally like to post and talk about them for 3 reasons...

1. Usually all CCO’s have similar stuff. The haul gives an idea what might be available in ‘your’ nearest CCO.
2. Many people just ‘enjoy’ seeing ’hauls’…( I am one of them)
3. At last, but not least…You all are the people who actually know what make-up I have in my vanity. I am confident that neither my hubby nor my son ever care to know…So obviously if I buy something, I have to share….SIMPLE!!!

Enuf rambling….Over to goodies….

The Goodies

I picked back-ups of crème sheen glasses in Petite Indulgence, Creme Anglaise. Also I picked one crème sheen glass in Partial To Pink by mistake. So I compared it with other similar looking colors I have. Even though it looks different, I am not sure if I should keep this or return. As I am unsure, so no swatches. I still have few days left. What do you all think? Should I keep this?

Pink/Peachy Pink Lipglasses

Then I picked this eyeshadow in Warming trend, which I believe was release during the 'Cool Heat' collection. I had heard it was similar to Woodwinked…I don’t know from where I got this, but I was so wrong!! It is no where even near to Woodwinked!! Its a Veluxe Pearl finish, so obviously it is smooth and has a great color pay off.
Few comparisons with other colors.

MAC Eye shadows in Patina, Warming Trend and Woodwinked

Swatches of MAC eye shadows in Warming Trend, Patina, Woodwinked

MAC Cream Colored Base In Crushed Bougainvillea

Next I picked my first cream color base by MAC in Crushed Bougainvillea. This was released during the Emanuel Ungaro collection. It looks scary Magenta in the pan, but swatches to a lovely berry color and on sheering out gives this nice berry/pinkish flush.

Swatch of MAC CCB in Crushed Bougainvillea
Now MAC CCB don’t have a very great reputation, which I think is true. The texture is not very smooth and creamy. Its bit sticky and difficult to spread and blend. Its not the worst thing out there, but definitely not the best. The color is so gorgeous, I couldn’t resist. Not to mention it was discounted! This would work great as a blush base and a lip stain. I have not tried it on my lips though.

Sheered Out

Other things I picked were from Clinique. One gel liner in Egyptian, which I have yet to try and one Face mask meant for oily skin, which I should have not purchased, because currently I am having dry, flakey skin. I will give it to hubby dear and ask him to review it for me. He has super duper oily skin…He can be my guest reviewer…..

Clinique Gel Liner

There are a few more stuff, which I will share in next post. Heavy pictures make web page to open up slowly and you all know, I get a bit crazy with pictures…

David Babaii Shampoo and conditioner (Review)

How cool is this picture!!!

David Babaii is a celebrity Hairstylist and he has this hair care line. Kate Hudson is their spokes-person and the promo pic above is so cute....

Its almost 5 to 6 weeks since I have been using this shampoo conditioner duo and I guess I have used it enough to review it and give my two cents...

David Babaii Hair Care Products

Our products are free of sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals, and animalproducts.
And of course, free from all animal testing. Even better, we furthersupport the
beauty in nature by donating ten percent of all profits to WildAid,the global
wildlife conservation organization, to help save our endangered animals

David Babaii Shampoo

Firstly, I am very very impressed with the products. I had tried Sulphate free shampoos in the past but this thing tops all of them. Its amazing stuff. The cool thing is its cruelty free.
The shampoo as per its name hydrates and leaves hair very shiny, smooth and soft like silk...literally like silk. I had never seen any shampoo and conditioner giving my hair so much of sheen. It was just amazing.

The smell of the shampoo is very pineapple, coconut types, fruity, tropical, which was bit over powering initially, but after 3 to 4 uses I got used to it, though I still feel its a bit strong for my liking.

The shampoo itself foams well and has a rich lather. Considering the fact that it is sulphate free, it does not has SLS aka Sodium Laural Sulphate, an ingrediant that is used in many soaps and shampoos to give that foam, lather effect. The hair rinses clean without stripping the natural oils in the hair. Does not makes the hair dry or straw like. The end result is very manageable, shiny, soft and healthy looking hair.

David Babaii Conditioner

The conditioner works well in conjugation with the shampoo. It too has the same scent. It is color safe, which is plus because you don't have to use different products for colored hair. The conditioner does not weighs my hair down, nor it makes it oily.

I personally have fine, thin hair. Each strand of hair is very thin and my hair tangles up easily. It appears very frizzy at time which I hate and my hair is naturally wavy by nature. This conditioner tames those frizzes to a great extent and makes combing so relaxing....

The products can be found at Ulta, Rite-aid etc. Its affordable in comparison to certain other brands like Ojon and others that make sulphate free shampoos.

I have been liking the duo so far. Not to mention the good cause associated with the brand. It is not tested on animals. David Babaii donates 10% of their total profit to WILDAID the Global Wildlife conservation Organization. The bottles used are made of recycled material.

My mom got me a David Babbai Amplifying Shampoo/Conditioner Duo during Holidays. I will keep you all posted, as to how that one works...

Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick - Lolita

The Kat Von D lipstick in Lolita is my first personal purchase. It’s a brand you can’t over look. Bold colors, artistic patterns on casing….something definitely noticeable in store.

Kat Von D Lolita Lipstick

Designed by reality television star Kat Von D especially for Sephora, Painted
Love Lipstick takes Kat's signature lip color, a sophisticated red, and expands
it into a range of smoldering shades, from crimson to blood red. It comes housed
in a deluxe tube with a clear Lucite bottom that shows off the color inside, and
the cap is stenciled with silver roses on matte black—inspired by Kat's favorite

Kat Von D Lolita Lipstick

The color in Lolita is a Mid tone Dusty Rose color with a hint if Pink/beige??? It is a color, which is probably the most safest color in her line. All the other colors are super duper bold. Lolita is very flattering for my warm toned skin and it is very wearable. This color works well with smokey eye looks. I have pigmented lips, so ultra pale nude lips makes me look like corpse. My definition of nude is definitely some ‘colored nude’.

Swatch Kat Von D Lolita Lipstick

The texture of lipstick is creamy. It gives a matte finish. It is a matte, but not very drying matte. I would not say it gives any moisture to lips, but does not dries it either. The staying power is good. It lasts for good 6 hours. The down side is the smell. Its little waxy. Not dirty waxy, but not a lovely vanilla scent either. The waxy smell is not bothering, so that ok.

Lolita lip swatch

Packaging is cool. The casing is nice and sturdy, has a rubbery finish and lovely silver rose pattern on it. The bottom is clear, and actual color is seen through it. The packaging is chic and not at all cheap looking.

Lolita Lip swatch (different lighting)

At $18 its worth giving a try, especially if you are a fan of bright, bold lips.
Disclaimer: I have paid for this product. Its my purchase.

Laura Mercier Metallic Creme Eyeshadow

This is one long pending post….
Past few months saw me becoming a huge fan of cream based products like cream shadows and cream blushes. No wonder, I started searching for various brands having cream shadows that are smudge proof and crease free and most important affordable.
Laura Mercier creams shadows had some great reviews and a month back or so I did a little swatch at Sephora store just to get an idea of shades, so that I could order stuff online during sale with ease.

I opted for Platinum, Gold and Rose gold

Laura Mercier Metallic Eye Shadow in Gold, Rose Gold, Platinum

These shades are very shimmery and have a metallic finish. They seriously don’t crease. I haven’t tried using them in many ways, but with whatever little I tried I found it to be blendable and soft. They are so easy to apply. I used my fingers and they just glided. Just a small dot is needed to get an even application, as piling on too much can mess the look. They dry within 30 seconds or so, to a shiny finish. These are very light weight and totally non-greasy.
By end of the day, I did notice some shimmers around my eyes, but that was after 12 long hours….Acceptable!!!

Swatches of Laura Mercier Metallic Eye Shadow in Gold, Rose Gold, Platinum

Metallic Creme Eye Colour Lush metallic color floats across the eye leaving a
gorgeous, shimmering sheen. High metallic pearl. Waterproof, lightweight, and

Platinum is a shimmery, champagne color with some peachy hues to it. But I didn’t notice much of peachiness on my lids. The tube is very small in size and its easy to use. No goopy mess. This would make a great color to apply in the inner tear duct area, as they make eyes look ‘awake’.

Gold is a taupe gold, more like antique gold and looks pretty….obviously anything gold is loved by me….As very little amount is needed, so the tube will last for long long time. I used concealer brush to apply this one, but fingers work fine aswell.

Rose Gold is my favorite of the bunch. It is a metallic, shimmery peachy, pink gold color. Very much like Rose color and Gold color mixed together…(if that makes any sense…lol!!)

Clicking pictures was very difficult for these products. The metallic shine is so shiny, that it reflected light, practically making it difficult to show any color in the swatches. When I say metallic sheen, it is a ‘good’ sheen and not a cheap, disco ball shine.

Personally, I have yet to figure out more ways to use this product….meanwhile, wearing it all by itself is the only thing I could do. Oh, I used it at base too. It worked, but I have yet to think of some more looks using these as bases.

p.s: Creasing of a crème eye shadow or base is very subjective. Some things that work for me, may not work for you!!

You can check the old swatches of Laura Mercier Metallic Eye shadow here.

Hello Lovelies...

Hope everyone is happy and cheerful....My house is pretty chaotic right now. My son is at home and he along with televison cartoon equals to utter chaos....
Anyways, last week was not so good for me health wise. My neck was hurting badly, practically making ot difficult to do any job...to top it up, a very sticky, irritating virus attacked my computer...It took 7 long hours for my hubby to get rid of it...Thankfully, non of the data was lost...but for some strange reasons non of my blog comments were published. That sucks!!!
Things look pretty positive this week. I have some MAC goodies from CCO to share, along with some lipstick chat and swatches from a brand that is practically new for me. Rest all coool...
Have a great wonderful week ahead,

NARS Eyeshadows Cordura, Brousse, Fez

NARS Brousse Eyeshadow

Few things are always on my wishlist. NARS eyeshadows, Chanel Products, YSL goodies...No matter what...something from their brand is always on my wishlist. Its just matter of accumulating some hard cash...lol!!

I ordered few goodies from NARS using a Gift card I got during the Holidays. Earlier I had only one NARS eyeshadow duo in Scorching Sun. Its a beautiful duo, but unfortunately I couldn't get much use out of it because of the color. Its an Orange colored duo. This time I chose more wearable colors aka 'safe neutrals'.

NARS Cordura Eyeshadow

Well, all NARS eyeshadow duos don't have same texture. I noticed Cordura duo was way smooth and soft than Brousse duo. The color pay off is great with all the three shadows I own and they blend very nicely. I don't think these colors in a single duo make a 'complete' duo or look. They don't have much fallouts either.

NARS Fez Eyeshadow

Fez is a single eyeshadow, a bronzy color. Its not new or unique, but texture is beautiful. It blends like a dream and the color pay off is awesome.

Comparison: NARS Brousse and Cordura

After I ordered the duos, I thought I made a mistake by ordering similar colors, but thats not the case. Brousse and Cordura both are different. I like using the darker color of Cordura as eyeliner.

Comparison: NARS Brousse, MAC Satin Taupe, Signed Sealed,

I pulled out similar looking colors I had in my stash from other brand. These are not dupes at all. Infact i would not call them comparable too. Its just that I remembered these colors when I saw the duo.

Swatches: NARS Brousse, MAC Signed Sealed, Satin Taupe

Cordura duo is a very dupe-able duo. If you have some basic permanent brown colors from MAC
Cordura does not becomes a must-have duo. Its a beautiful duo for sure. The lighter color is similar to Fez and darker color is veru much like NARS Mekong, which is a very popular and beautiful color.

Comparison: NARS Cordura, Fez, MAC Go, Romp, Mulch, Bronze

Swatches: NARS Cordura, Fez, MAC Bronze, Mulch

MAC Time n Space, Woodwinked, Go
By the time I swatched all this, I was too over whelmed seeing loads of brown eyeshadow. I forgot swatching Romp and Tempting. I mean how many brown does one needs?
