Color, Texture, Consistency and Scent
Pale yellow, salt granules that are neither too large nor too finely milled. They are abrasive, but not harsh. The body scrub is fluffy and loosely packed. It has light citrus scent to it.
Application
The scrub is infused with essential oil and contains other oil blends. It is important to mix the product with spoon well. I apply it on lightly damp skin. For the soles of feet and legs, I prefer applying on dry skin. Massage it in light, circular motions for a minute or so and then rinse it off with water.
Usage Experience
The scrub is abrasive, but not harsh to the point that it would hurt the skin. The granules are fine and not too big like Lush Ocean Sea Salt. It is pretty effective to slough of the dead skin and makes the skin smooth and soft. The oils in the scrub help coat the skin with thin layer of oil, that helps the skin to stay moisturized and nourished. I can totally skip moisturizer after using the scrub, but I don't. I follow it with their Glow Body Oil.
Packaging
Plastic PET jar with silver screw top lid, that is recyclable. I would personally wish a different kind of packaging. Water tends to get inside the jar. But considering the texture of the product, I cannot think of any other packaging style. I mean may be a soft squeeze tube would work, but that would need a very big hole in the lid for dispensing bigger sized granules, thus making storing the tube a problem. So let the research for perfect packaging continue.
Final Thoughts
I use body scrubs often and for someone like me who suffers from Keratosis Pilaris, a harmless skin condition that causes dry, rough patches and tiny bumps, usually on the upper arms, thighs, cheeks or buttocks. I use a chemical exfoliating body scrub like the DERMAdoctor KP Duty or FIRST AID BEAUTY KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub (review) with AHA twice a week but on other days I prefer something without chemical exfoliants and stick to physical exfoliating products, that has a base of salt or sugar and is nourishing and moisturizing at the same time. This particular scrubs does everything, though I wish it had a little more of oil in it to hold the granules of sea salt better and not be as crumbly or loose. Doesn't affect the effectiveness of the scrub. Just would had made it easy to scoop and use. A very refreshing and apt for everyday use.
