FIRST AID BEAUTY KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub with 10% AHA

A body scrub that exfoliates to reveal healthier-looking skin. This fast-acting KP body scrub delivers the benefits of a chemical peel and micro-dermabrasion treatment in one. Glycolic and Lactic Acids at a combined level of 10% help loosen skin’s top layer and decongest pores with Pumice Buffing Beads that whisks it all away.

KP stands for Keratosis Piliaris also know as Chicken skin is a common, harmless skin condition that causes dry, rough patches and tiny bumps, usually on the upper arms, thighs, cheeks or buttocks. These bumps look like goosebumps. The bumps generally don't hurt or itch. These rough-feeling bumps are actually plugs of dead skin cells. Dry skin can make these bumps more noticeable

Ingredients
- Pumice Buffing Beads: Natural exfoliating particles that mechanically remove dead cells on skin's surface to reveal brighter looking skin.
- Glycolic & Lactic Acids: Alpha hydroxy acids that exfoliate skin and help it appear brighter and improve texture.
- Bisabolol: Help soothe and calm skin.
- Vitamin E: A vitamin rich in antioxidants, helps condition and soothe skin and stave off environmental aggressors.

Ingredient Callouts
Free of sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban, and contains less than one percent of synthetic fragrances. This product is also vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free.

Color, Texture and Consistency
Light Cement Gray color with fine sand like gritty texture. These sandy abrasive materials are densely suspended in a creamy substance. Non-sticky.

Scent
Nothing significant. It just has a product scent. Not overwhelming, bad, floral or perfume like.

Application
As I have used chemical and physical body exfoliators before, I sort of knew I would tolerate this one. So I used this thrice a week. Just apply a dollop onto wet skin and gently massage with fingertips on my arms, thighs and upper part of the back, then rinse it and pat dry. It is very important to apply this on wet skin and make sure to avoid getting the gritty scrub into the eyes. I then follow with a body oil. Even a body cream/moisturizer would work. I just prefer oil.

Feel and Effects on the skin
The scrub is very gritty in texture, so a little goes a long way. The moist texture helps the product to actually stay on the body and spread easily and not just fall as crumbs all over. The Pumice Buffing Beads are natural exfoliating particles and they mechanically remove dead cells on skin's surface and decongest pores, giving all the benefits of micro-dermabrasion treatment. The skin feels soft, smooth and less bumpy just after three uses. The lactic and glycolic acids helps with the chemical peel treatment by loosening the skin’s top layer, revealing brighter skin. I didn’t notice any sensitivity, tingling or burning. There was visible brightness on my upper back area. I have some real, dark hyperpigmented, leathery dry patches on my back and they looked smoother and felt less leathery. The skin appeared healthy and even in texture.

Packaging
Comes in a soft squeeze tube with a plastic flip top cap. I prefer my shower products in tubes over jars and tubs as I don't have to dunk my wet fingers into the jars. Also, it avoids getting water into the container. It is just hygienic and user friendly. The packaging is recyclable

Final Thoughts
I totally love this Body Scrub. The Pumice Buffing Beads have just the right amount of grittiness to it. It is abrasive yet not harsh on the skin. The particles are very fine in texture. The combination of Lactic and Glycolic acids in 10% combination is effective yet gentle. There is no tingling, redness or burning sensation. It does not get rid of the bumpy, dry patches completely but improves the texture of the skin considerably by making is appear smooth and soft. With constant use I am hoping to see more improvement in the condition of the skin.

Precautions
A patch test is recommended for those with sensitive skin.
This product contains glycolic and lactic acids that may increase skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.
Not intended for facial use. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse well with water.
