Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

Dermalogica Microfoliant is a unique, rice-based enzyme powder that activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes to smooth the skin and accelerate cell renewal. Their unique Skin Brightening Complex of Bearberry, Aspergillus, Grapefruit and Licorice helps to balance uneven skin pigmentation. Active agents derived from Rice Bran and Rice Extract help to regulate melanin production while micro-exfoliating dead cells. A super-soothing blend of Green Tea, Ginkgo and Colloidal Oatmeal calms inflammation, leaving the skin extraordinarily clear and refreshed.

Color, Texture and Consistency:
It is a white powder, not finely milled, medium grainy but not very gritty in texture. Just like wheat flour. There are no beads, no granules.

Scent: It has a mild scent, not perfume but earthy, natural scent, nothing that would cause trouble to a sensitive nose.

Application, Feel and Effect on skin:
Less than 1/2 a teaspoon is all I need to clean my entire face. It turns into delicate, creamy foam when comes in contact with water. It is very gentle and not abrasive like the traditional exfoliators (Laura Mercier Skin Face Polish is my favorite) and can be used daily, hence the name I guess.
Cleans effectively and makes the skin super soft, radiant and silky smooth. It did not sting nor did it leave my face crazy dry, red, raw or itchy.

Packaging: I have in travel size and it comes in a plastic bottle, that has a dispenser. I wish the dispenser had a cover or something to prevent water from accidentally entering the bottle and making it a clumpy mess. Reminds me of those spice bottles.

Verdict: These kind of rice based enzyme cleansers are very good, because they are multi tasking. They cleanse, exfoliate and helps in clearing out the clogged pores. Very gentle and easy to use, the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant contains some impressive ingredients. The product would work great for oily and combination skin, because of its ability to absorb the oil. I have dry skin and for me moisturizing becomes mandatory after using this product. I have used similar products in the past and of all the ones that I have used, I find this one the best. Tatcha Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder
(review) comes close second.
