PIXI GLOW MUD CLEANSER

A deep pore cleansing mud, enriched with 5% glycolic and soothing botanicals. It gently exfoliates and revitalizes. Mud deep cleanses while Glycolic acid enhances complexion's glow to reveal radiant and healthy skin.

Pixi has hit jackpot with Glycolic Acid. The Pixi Glow Tonic (review) from the brand is my holy grail for life time. I seriously love that stuff. It is gentle and effective both at the same time. The Pixi Glow Mud cleanser is no different. I picked it up long back because I wanted to compare it with the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate® Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash (review), which I like a lot. It contains Glycolic acid as one of their ingredients and I wanted to see how this one performed in comparison.

Color, Texture and Consistency:
Dirty Brown in color. It is a soft, silky smooth creamy product that is non sticky and not gritty at all.

Scent: Earthy scent, like when water hits the muddy earth kinds. Very pleasing.

Application, Feel and Effect on the skin:
This one does not foams. It is like a cream, that spreads easily. I massage it with my finger tips and leave it on for a minute or less. Then rinse it off with water. The face feels absolutely clean and looks bright, glowy and radiant. I have dry skin and it did not dry my skin any more. It is not moisturizing, but considering that it contains mud and glycolic acid, the drying effect was not bad.

Packaging: Regular squeeze tube with a flip top cap.

Verdict: I love this cleanser. It is fantastic! It is gentle, cleans effectively, gives a radiant glow to the skin and is not too drying. I have dry skin and it does not rips every drop of natural oil from my skin. Oily skin and acne prone skin will love it. This is going to be perfect for those hot and humid days in summer. Another favorite for summer is the First Aid Beauty Deep Cleanser. The Pixi Mud Cleanser does the job well, at a very reasonable price and is easily available at the drugstore.
