Double cleansing has become an indispensable part of my skincare routine. The first cleanse that is usually an oil based cleanser or balm that removes makeup gently and and super cleans the face.

This cleansing balm has been formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oil, alcohol, or artificial coloring.

Color Texture and Consistency

Pale white, soft, smooth sherbet-y texture. It is non slippery, non sticky solid balm that is very light weight. It has a high melting point, so it does not melts at higher temperature and maintains its solid state. It does not turns into a liquid, oily mess.

This cleansing balm has a pH level of 6.1

Scent

It has a light floral scent to it. Very pleasing. 

Application

This is my first step in double cleansing routine. I take a dime size scoop of the oil cleanser, using the little spatula (included) and gently massage the formula all over the face and neck without using any water.  The key to using any oil based cleanser effectively is to just apply it and leave it alone for few seconds. The product is in soft solid state initially but massaging slowly, it turns into more of an oil that dissolves makeup effortlessly.

Then I add a little bit of lukewarm water to the face to emulsify the product using upward, circular motions. Adding water causes the formula to turn slightly milky. Then rinse thoroughly using lukewarm water. I follow it with foam/cream water-based cleanser.

Feel and Effect on the skin

The cleanser does not feels heavy or oily on the skin. The sherbet-y textured solid balm cleanser dissolves and lifts the makeup easily without tugging or pulling the skin. It removes most waterproof makeup without stripping the face of its natural oils. Does not clogs the pores. Removes impurities. The product rinses well without leaving any greasy residue. The skin does not feel dry or stretched. It feels smooth, soft, moisturized and hydrated. I do clean my eye makeup using an eye makeup remover because I use kohl on my waterline and I have a very specific way to clean it using ear buds. I don't completely rely on this product to remove my eye makeup, but it does the job well. I tested.

Packaging

Comes in a lovely pink tub with a lid on top that has a notch to hold the plastic spatula it comes with. It is easy to scoop out the balm with the little spatula. Love the fact that it is solid state and not a liquid mess. Very travel friendly.

Final Thoughts

It is a lovely, simple oil based first cleanser. Everything from texture to performance is amazing. It is very effective and easy to use, removes impurities and even stubborn makeup with ease without tugging. It leaves no residue on rinsing. Does not dries my skin out and leaves it soft, smooth and hydrated. The ingredient list is skin friendly and the scent is very pleasant. It is travel friendly and easy on the pocket. Pretty gentle and can be used on all skin types though the brand does has multiple variations of their cleansing balms catering to various, specific skin needs and requirements.
