This on-the-go, easy-to-use eye shadow stick and eye liner glides seamlessly onto lids and blends perfectly to create any eye shadow look, from a smoky eye to a winged eyeliner. Simply twist up the shadow stick and apply the ultra-creamy, waterproof formula all over the eye lid. These rich shades can be mixed and matched for endless looks.

These come in four finishes. Satin, Matte, Shimmer and Metallic and there are a total of 15 shades available as I type this. The matte metallic shades can also double as a waterproof eyeliner.

Color, Texture and Consistency

I have it in 6 shades.

01 Or Inoubliable - light gold (satin finish)

These are super creamy, highly pigmented, non sticky and not too wet or too hard in the tube.

Application

Nothing can be as easy as using these shadow sticks. Simply twist up the shadow stick and apply the ultra-creamy product all over the lid. Then blend it either with fingers or a synthetic eye brush for a quick, easy look. I prefer fingers over a brush, because I find this starts to set almost immediately. I usually go in for a single color all over the lid as a wash of color and then use a darker, complimenting color as a liner or sometimes I enjoy mixing a darker shade to the outer corner for added depth and color.

Feel and Effect

These eyeshadows are super soft and creamy. They do not tug or pull the delicate eye lids. They glide on like butter. The pencil is highly pigmented and one to two swipes are enough to get a rich color. I find that these are easy to blend with fingers than with brush because they start to set almost instantly. It is advisable to do one eye at a time and keep blending as needed. The shimmery shades have very fine shimmers, that are not gritty in texture and the shimmers don't migrate everywhere by end of the day. The metallic shades or the shimmery shades don't make my eyelids looks wrinkly.

Longevity

The Ombre Hypnose Stylo Eye Shadow Sticks lasts on the eyelids forever. Agreed that this is an exaggerated statement, but on serious note, these shadows stay put for several hours and does not fade or crease on my super oily eye lids. The shimmers don't transfer either. The formula is waterproof and can be removed using an eye makeup remover or an oil based cleanser or balm cleanser.

Packaging

Sturdy, twist up tube with a lid that snaps shut and prevents the shadow sticks from drying out or becoming hard and stiff. There is a built in sharpener at the end. When the tip gets dull, unscrew the sharpener on the back to refine the point. This might be little wasteful but is very handy if using as a eyeliner.

Final thoughts

I find this to be very user friendly, on the go eye makeup product that gives a polished look when time is an issue. I wear glasses and I am practically blind without them. So it is a little difficult for me do eye makeup quickly. The blending of shadows requires me to literally get inside the mirror to see what i am doing. This is one major reason I have always preferred single or two shadow looks. The shadow sticks makes it easy for me to look put together in no time. Just a quick swipe of color and blend with fingers is all that is needed with this product.

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye shadows have been an all time favorite of mine and I find that one does not set almost instantly, thus giving enough time to blend the colors seamlessly, without hurry. This one sets pretty quickly. Also, the color selection in the Caviar sticks are more flattering on my skintone and eye color. I find the shades of Lancome Ombre Hypnose Stylo that I have tiny bit more shimmery for my taste. Would love to pick the other warm shades that they have in their collection. With that being said, these eyeshadow sticks perform wonderfully without budging, fading or creasing. A major plus point of these sticks are the shape. The pointed tip makes it very easy to use this as eyeliner and that tiny sharpener at the back comes in handy. A good product, especially if you find the color that flatters you the most.
