FAB FIVE is a series where I share products that have attained Holy Grail status in my vanity but started out as humble samples. As a blogger and skincare fanatic, I love trying out new products from multiple brands all the time. I like a lot of them but only a selected handful products make it to the repurchase list. This is Vol.2
Laneige Lip Sleeping mask was a game changer for my lip condition. I have tried pretty much every single lip balm in the market, well not every lip balm, but a lot of them. While many were good, none were as excellent as this one. This lip mask is light weight, non sticky and heals chapped lip conditions beautifully. There is significant reduction in appearance of fine lines and it conditions the lip to make them appear smooth and plump. I can reapply the balm/mask multiple times without it actually peeling my lips (yes, many lip balms tend to peel my lips by end of the day, weird!!) Now, this is not a solution for cold sores or frost bitten lips but a fantastic product to tackle day to day lip conditions.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant is a fabulous product if you battle with textured skin and by that I mean skin that has tiny bumpy thingy that are neither acne, milia or black heads, this product can help to improve the condition considerably.
Dermalogica Microfoliant is an enzyme powder that activates upon contact with water. It is used as a cleanser and contains Rice Bran and Rice Extract that help microfoliate dead cells from skin surface, releasing Papain and Salicylic Acid to smooth the skin and accelerate cell renewal. It also contains a blend of Bearberry, Grapefruit, Licorice and some other ingredients (they call this unique blend as Skin Brightening complex) that helps to balance uneven skin pigmentation and regulate Melanin production. The Green Tea, Ginkgo and Colloidal Oatmeal in it calms inflammation.
The best thing about this products is that it is gentle enough to be used daily and is not abrasive. It is like little shot of exfoliation on everyday basis. Obviously, the usage can be controlled as per personal skin preference. I still buy the Travel size because a little goes a long way and I like portable container in my bathroom.
If you are one of those people who know how important it is to protect the skin from the harsh UV rays of sun, yet don't use a sunscreen because it is sticky, has funky smell and makes makeup application a hot mess, then TATCHA Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen is you answer. At a price tag that can buy you five days worth of grocery, this product is worth every penny. I don't usually say thois about makeup products, but when it comes to skin and hair care, I think a little investment wouldn't hurt.
The sunscreen is super light weight, blends into the skin beautifully, leaves no ashy or white cast and moisturizes the skin without making it look greasy. I use a tinted moisturizer as makeup base and it layers easily on this sunscreen. A detailed review, with ingredient breakdown to come soon.
Micellar water is not a new thing anymore but there was a time (5-6 years back) when this was a totally new term for me. This cleansing water, like the name says looks just like water but is a cleanser that gently removes dirt, sebum from the face and does not needs to be rinsed off. It is a combination of water; mild surfactants in low concentration and some hydrating ingredients. There is no alcohol and is very mild on the skin. I use it almost everyday to remove my makeup. I wear light makeup and this does pretty good job of removing every trace of it without stinging the skin, It does not irritates the eyes, making it perfect for touch ups for eye makeup. There is no greasy residue. There is a whole lot of science behind this products and there are some good reads on the internet. This French Pharmacy product is pure perfection and Bioderma is the best out there in the market.
Applying sunscreen all over the body is a nightmare! especially if it leaves white residue. I just hate the gross sticky feeling. The Vita Liberata Dry Oil is such a miracle product! It is an oil, that has SPF of 50 for good enough protection from sun. It is not just your average, greasy oil. It is a dry oil, emphasis on the word dry. The oil spreads easily and dries off completely, without any ashy cast or sticky residue. Does not transfer on clothes and smells nice. There is nothing more I need from a sunscreen for body. I got a tiny sample from Nordstrom and before I knew it became a family favorite. It has become very difficult to find this product these days. Bummer!!!
