I love cream and liquid products for my cheeks. Cream blush and cream highlighters are my go-to beauty staples for spring and summer. While I do love my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighters and Edward Bess All Over Seduction in After glow cream Highlighter, I wanted to change things up a bit for this summer.
On my recent trip to Sephora, I swatched a bunch of cream highlighters. Wander Beauty had great, smooth formula but the glow factor was missing. Ciaté London Dewy Stix Luminous Highlighting Balm was just like vaseline, trèStiQue Highlight & Perfect Multipurpose Stick was too pink toned and I already had the Benefit Watt's Up! cream to powder highlighter and the Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer wand. RMS products are online only and my Sephora didn't carry Milk Makeup.
Even though, I was not too impressed by the formula of Nudestix All Over face Color Bronze & Glow initially, I fell in love with the color Hey, Honey. My two cents on this product and what I like and what I don't
Color, Texture and Consistency:
These sticks come in three colors. The lighter one in Illumi-Naughty is pearly white with tons of pink undertones. It didn't look right on my warm, medium skintone. The color Hey, Honey is a described as Golden Sun Kiss and true to its description it is a warm golden highlight that is not too bronze and has the perfect amount of sheen and glow. The third one was a dark Bronze shade (I forgot the name)
The texture is sticky. No sugar coating here. It is light weight, not too dense with perfect amount of evenly dispersed fine shimmers, that are not chunky or glittery.
Application, Feel and Effect on the Skin:
I prefer using my fingers to apply this product in dabbing and tapping motion. I either dab the product directly onto the skin or rub the finger on the stick and dab it on the skin. I don't rub in the highlighter to blend. The consistency is sticky to use any beauty sponge or even the brush provided, because the dense brush tends to move the foundation. The key is 'not to drag' the product.
This highlighter never dries, it remains slightly tacky giving a wet, glossy high shine glow. the stickiness is reduced after sometime. It is not shimmery but gives this illuminated, crystal glass like glistening glow and I am tempted to use the most cliched term here. The J.LO Glow. It is literally that glow! It does not look fake at all and with my skintone it looks very natural. I love that finish and the end result.
This is an All Over Face Color, but I don't use it as a bronzer or anywhere else. Just as an illuminator on the high points of the face.
Longevity: The product sticks on the skin and doesn't budge or move. The shine or the glow does not fades or disappears just like that.
Packaging: A chubby NARS Multiple kind of tube, with twist up mechanism. One end is the product and the other end is a brush. Instead of brush, I would have preferred a blush color. Something like Wander Beauty On-The-Glow Blush and Illuminator. It would had made it all in one, easy to carry product. The brush is good and handy, but it is dense and moves around the foundation. I find such dense, stubby brushes good to blend liquid and cream cheek color on bare skin. The formula of this product is sticky/tacky and fingers work best. So the brush is pointless for me.

1. Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer Wand 2. Nudestix Hey, Honey! 3. Benefit Watt's Up! 4. Edward Bess Afterglow |
Swatch and Comparison: Josie Maran is more dense but beautiful, Edward Bess Afterglow is more peachy, Benefit Watt's Up is cooler in comparison. Nudestix Hey! Honey blends with my skintone.
Verdict: Even though it sounds like the stickiness will be an issue, it actually is not if you like the wet looking glow. I personally enjoy this product for the 'no-makeup makeup look' or in summer when I just prefer a tinted moisturizer as base. Layering a cream blush and this highlighter on top of tinted moisturizer is easy, because not much gets messed with the base. The finish is very natural and touch ups are easy. I would have preferred a different packaging though, for all the reasons mentioned above.
