Caudalie Instant Detox Mask

A detoxifying face mask that draws out accumulated toxins from clogged pores to revitalize and invigorate the complexion.

This Instant Detox Mask brings life to a dull, tired complexion. It clears the pores of impurities and toxins, purifies from pollution, and invigorates lackluster skin. It is enriched with grape marc to detoxify, pink clay and coffee to clarify, and papaya enzymes for a boost of immediate radiance.

It is formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates, phenoxyethanol, mineral oils, and sodium laureth sulfate. It is non-photo sensitizing and noncomedogenic. Does not contain animal ingredients and is not tested on animals

This is a clay based face mask and these kind of Detox masks are more apt for oily and acne prone skin. I am a dry skin person and such masks usually strip every bit of natural oil from my skin. Knowing this, I still use a clay based mask from time to time for pore refining and clarifying my skin in general.

Color, Texture and Consistency: Pink in tube. Dries down to a dark, pink clay like thing. It reminds me of calamine lotion. It is soft, non sticky, non gritty thick cream.

Scent: It has a subtle lavender scent. It is pleasant and does not lingers on for long.

Application, Feel and Effect on Skin: I apply a thin layer directly on clean face, leaving the area around the eyes bare, with my finger tips or sometimes using a fancy spatula kind of applicator. I leave it for about 8-10 minutes or till it is completely dry. The skin feels stretched and dry. If left any longer, the mask cracks and makes my face itchy. To wipe of the mask, I loosen it with water and then wash it off completely. The skin feels soft, squeaky clean and all the gunk from the pores is gone. It makes the face look brighter and glowy. It is not a hydrating mask, so moisturizer is needed immediately after that.

I also use it as spot treatment, especially when I feel like a small bump appearing on my face or a

Packaging: Convenient soft, squeeze tube that matte finish and a wooden lid. Looks very earthy and rustic.

Verdict: It is a good mask. A good clay based mask. I have used similar kind of products before. It did the job of clearing out the facial pores effectively and made the skin look clean, bright and glowy. The mask is gentle, did not tingle or burn. It did not break me out of made my skin itchy. It did shrink and minimize the pores. I have dry skin to begin with and I use tons of creams and oils. Sometimes, it becomes necessary for me to give my skin a deep clean. The mask performs very good. There are other clay based masks that would give similar results. On its own, this did the job well.

Few other clay based face masks I have used
