BURBERRY Fresh Glow Compact - Luminous Foundation (Honey 32)

A dual-finish compact foundation with adjustable coverage for a flawless glow. This lightweight, smooth, powder foundation helps to even out skintone while it minimizes the appearance of imperfections. Can be used wet or dry.

It is formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates

Color, Texture and Consistency:
I have the shade Honey 32. The powder has yellow undertones. This is probably one of the smoothest, velvety and buttery powders that has touched my face. It is literally like cream, silky, light weight and finely milled.

Scent:
A strong perfume scent and it lingers on for a while. I personally don't mind it, though I would prefer fragrance free powders. This one makes me nostalgic, because my mom used to have cosmetics, that had similar perfume scents.

Application and Pigmentation:
The powder is pigmented and buildable. Depending on the brush used, the coverage can be anywhere from medium to full. I use a flat top kabuki brush and buff the powder in well if I want full coverage. For sheer/ medium coverage I use a big, fluffy powder brush. I use this on well moisturized skin after applying my primer. The primer can be a hydrating primer or an illuminating primer, depending on the occasion and the weather.

Feel and Effect on the skin:
I have dry skin and always tend to get dry patches around my chin and cheek area. This does not dries it any further, but like any other powder product will cling on to dry patches if they are not moisturized well. Once the base is nice and moisturized, this does not adheres to those dry patches. The skin looks flawless and even. It gives a very natural finish and never looks cakey. The powder is not flat matte and gives a warm luminous glow. This is not as glowy as the IT cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination. I find this works best with Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base underneath. This base has a light sheen and on top of it the powder looks beautiful. It does blurs fine lines and minimizes the appearance of pores to some extent but not like a primer or a finishing powder.

Longevity: It stays put and covers well. Does not fades. It doesn't oxidizes on me nor does it turn orange or grey.

Packaging:
Packaging is classic Burberry. It has the check pattern all over the gun metal packaging. It has magnetic closure, is heavy and feels luxurious. It is not at all cheap looking. Comes with a tiny mirror and a slot to hold the sponge for touch ups. I never use the sponge though.

Verdict: This is a lovely powder foundation, that can be used both wet and dry. I don't use it wet, though I sometimes press a damp makeup sponge like Beauty Blender over the powder to set it and lock it in. This is mostly useful when I go over board with powder. The product covers well, never looks cakey and the color is perfect match for me. It has enough Yellow undertones and works well for my skin tone. The heavy perfume scent might not go well with sensitive nose out there. A beautiful luxury product. The shade selection is not wide and I would love to see some more colors.

I have a comparison post of all the foundation powders and finishing powders, with swatches ready in my draft folder. I will post it up once I am back from my 8 weeks long break this summer. This obviously is a scheduled post.
