Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm

An intensive moisturizing formula to deliver immediate relief to dry, chapped lips while promoting extreme comfort and lip beauty.

Every application of nourishing Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm deposits a sheer, protective shield that keeps lips soft, smooth and moisture-perfect. Shea extract softens, soothes and smooths painful lips, essential rose wax calms and protects, ceramide 3 hydrates and replenishes while the brand's Maxi-Lip™ Complex plumps.

Formulated without parabens

Color: Clear with pinkish hue, but does not stain the lips nor leaves any color.

Texture and Consistency: Thick, dense, slightly sticky but not goopy balm

Scent: Mild fruity scent, nothing too strong. Pleasant but does not lingers and is not detectable once applied.

Application: I use the tiniest amount of product at night (3 times a week) just like a lip mask. I specifically try to concentrate more on the corners of the lips. Occasionally, I apply a generous layer of the balm, let is sit for 5-10 minutes and then scrub it off with any homemade sugar scrub or plain raw sugar and cotton bud. This exfoliates the lips beautifully, leaving behind super soft lips.

Feel and Effect on Skin: This balm is heavy. It is slightly sticky too. It is not absorbed by the lips and instead just sits on top leaving behind a film. I personally find it very uncomfortable and I don't love how it feels. It does gets little better once I try to dab excess balm with a tissue. Also, I cannot apply my lipstick on top of it. The end results though are amazing. The lips feel super soft, nourished, hydrated and even in texture. No flakes, no cracks!

Packaging: It comes in a soft squeeze tube with a sanitary applicator. Very hygienic.

Verdict: I love the results (as mentioned above) but I hate the thick texture and the way it sits on my lips. It has no SPF which is great, because SPF in lip balms tend to peel my lips with the exception of Jack Black Lip Balm. I enjoy using it as lip treatment, like I would use Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask. This one is not as thick and dense as Agave lip mask, but pretty much on the same lines in terms of stickiness.
It is on the expensive side, but little goes a long way and also it can be bought in sets usually during the holidays. It is not a must have in my opinion.
