KIEHL'S Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate

KIEHL'S Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate

Kiehl's Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate utilizes the next generation of Serum-to-Liquid Technology™ to intensively hydrate the deepest surface layers of dehydrated skin. It drenches you in moisture immediately upon application, plumping your skin while smoothing the appearance of fine lines and rough texture and treating dull, tired skin.

Formulated with a potent complex of 15% plant-based Glycerin and Shiso Leaf Extract

Plant-based Glycerin works as a moisture magnet and pulls essential moisture into skin. It is highly compatible with skin and also creates a “reservoir effect”, enhancing the water-holding capacity of the skin and ultimately helping to provide skin elasticity and plumpness and facilitates epidermal barrier function. The glycerin used in this formula is plant-based and can be derived from sources including palm fruit, rapeseed and coconut.

This is a serum, which in my definition is a skincare product. The ingredient list has Glycerine and other good stuff but it also has a bunch of silicones and for me silicone equates primer. I don't enjoy silicones in my skincare, though many skincare products have them these days.

Color: Translucent White

Texture and Consistency: Light weight, not too thick nor too dense cream-gel

Scent: No floral or perfume scent.

Application: I use it only during the day. It has silicone in it and so I avoid using it as an overnight skincare serum, because silicone based products tend to break me out if I use them generously. Just a pump or two is enough to cover my entire face. The product spreads easily and is absorbed almost instantly.

Feel and Effect on the skin: It feels like water once spread. The texture is very light. There is absolutely no tackiness. It does not leaves any greasiness behind. The face feels very velvety smooth and soft and intensely hydrated, without being greasy. The fine lines on forehead disappear and the skin looks plump and hydrated. There is no stretching of skin and the dry patches around the mouth area appear smooth. It creates an even base for makeup application. My foundation layers nicely on top of this and it does not slips or slides. It did not break me out nor clogged my pores.

Packaging: It comes in a sleek, plastic bottle with pump dispenser and the pump is actually very good. I love the sleek, hygienic packaging.

Verdict: I love this product. It hydrates my dry skin without leaving any greasiness. The hydration and softness lasts for pretty long time. Usually, the moisture left by many cream - gel formulas don't last long on my dry skin. The face feels smooth and plump, special emphasis on the word plump. The formula is feather light and it works beautifully even in hot climate. I enjoy using this as a day moisturizer/serum, but I don't see myself using this as a part of my night time skincare routine. It is a beautiful product!

Few other product from Kiehl's that I have used and loved most of them. I have used so many of these that now I should officially be qualified to be on their PR list. But jokes aside, it is a brand I love and will continue buying no matter what.
