This Firming Night Balm is formulated with naturally derived ingredients and is not tested on animals.
Color: Pale Green
Texture and Consistency: Thick, soft not too dense nor sticky balm, that melts in contact with heat of the palms.
Scent: Faint herbal, negligible actually.
Application: I just scoop a little amount with my fingers and dot it all over the face. I massage my face with this using the my finger tips using circular motions. The balm melts on the warm skin and provides enough slip for the fingers to move around easily and freely. I also incorporate a few massage steps. Even though it is a mask, it doubles up as a massage cream/oil. I leave the whole greasy face for an hour or so and then put hot towel on it. The steam from the towel is warming, comforting and soothing. Then I gently wipe the excess with a moist cotton and leave it on the skin to do its magic.
On days, when I don't follow the whole warm towel regime, I just apply it all over the face like any cream and leave it. I just make sure, not to let the product pool around my nose areas. This did not clog my pores nor left any white bumps.
Feel and effect on Skin: On application, the skin feels greasy. The product, though not heavy in texture, is still a balm that melts and turns into oil. Even though some part of it is absorbed by the skin, a lot of it sits on top of the skin, leaving a film of grease. I love oils and I love how oils nourish the skin. The after effect of this balm is wonderful. The skin feels soft, smooth and intensely moisturized. There are no dry patches and even after washing the face, I don't feel the need to moisturize almost immediately. I do moisturize though. It makes the skin look healthy, nourished and there is considerable improvement in the elasticity.
Packaging: It comes in a good quality opaque glass pot with wooden screw top cap. There is no applicator or scoop. Very basic and simple. The packaging of this brand gives a very rustic, earthy vibes.
Verdict: I personally love oils and oil based products. My skin is dry and I like it to be nourished and hydrated. Oils work the best. The Farmacy Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm is an oil in balm form in my opinion. All the after effects I get from using this, like soft, smooth nourished skin, devoid of dry patches are just like I get after using a good oil. The thing I like most about this one though is it is easy to carry/travel and due to its consistency, it doubles up as a good massage cream.
The product is designed to be used as a part of night skincare routine, but if you find it too greasy, just an hour or two of application during the day would be enough for getting decent results. Another way to use this is like spot treatment. If you have heavy, dry patches just apply the product on those dry patches.

As far as reducing wrinkle and fine lines is concerned, regular use of any high emollient product will help but not instantly. It takes some time and discipline to see results in wrinkle reduction.
