Lancôme BI-FACIL - Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

A gentle, liquid eye makeup remover. This formula activates when shaken, to gently whisk away waterproof eye makeup while conditioning and refreshing the skin. It leaves eyes feeling cool and relaxed without an oily residue.

This eye makeup remover has been around since ages. Before I knew of any Micellar water or cleansing balms, this and CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Makeup Remover were probably the only eye makeup removers I used. When I opened a new bottle recently, I knew I had to review it on the blog.

Color: Clear

Texture and Consistency: This has two layers, two liquids with different density. Lightly greasy, non sticky, thin liquid. On mixing together the liquid become cloudy.

Scent: Pleasant, light floral scent

Application: After shaking the bottle and mixing the product, I soak cotton pad and saturate it with the liquid. (I prefer using Shiseido cotton pads, for removing makeup around the eyes as they are very gentle and soft). After gently pressing and holding the cotton pads over both eyes, I wipe the makeup off, followed by washing my face using any gentle facial cleanser.

Feel and Effect on the skin: This is a very light and effective product. It does not stings or burns my eyes. I don't have to rub, tug or pull to remove makeup. Just holding the cotton pads on the eyes for 30 seconds does the trick. It loosens up all the makeup and with just one swipe everything comes of. There is no dryness nor any oily residue left. It removes water proof mascara and eye liner easily and effectively. Very rarely, I need to use this twice. I do wash my face later and apply an eye cream. I do a lot of swatches on my hands for blog and when I use this to wipe off those colors, I do see a white cast. Moisturizing the area later is a must.

Verdict: This has been a longtime favorite. In fact it is Holy grail. As a blogger, I keep trying new products, but if I have to choose only one eye makeup remover, it would be either this Lancôme BI-FACIL Eye Makeup Remover or CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Makeup Remover. It is gentle on the eyes and makes fixing mistakes very easy without leaving any oily or greasy residue. It is not drying either. One of the best out there in the market.
