Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains

A potent, all-inclusive cleansing face exfoliator with innovative grains that transform from a powder into a gentle, foaming exfoliating cream with the addition of water.

Natural cranberry seeds act as the exfoliator to provide a deep clean to lift away surface debris and promote skin clarity, while rice bran powder loosens dry skin cells and absorbs excess oils and surface impurities. A complex of white willow bark, carrot, green tea, and marshmallow soothe, protect, and calm the skin. The formula also contains Farmacy’s patent-protected Echinacea GreenEnvy™, a unique variant of echinacea purpurea that contains a high concentration of cichoric acid, which helps protect the skin by supporting natural collagen.

Formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates. It is also free of formaldehyde and artificial coloring and is not tested on animals.

Color: White with little specks of red (cranberry seeds)

Texture and Consistency: Lightly gritty, not too grainy powder

Scent: It smells like rice powder with faint hint of some herb in it. I could very specifically smell the rice powder.

Application: I take about 1/4 tsp powder and add  few drop of water. The powder transforms into creamy foam but not a very heavy lather. I use circular motions to massage in the product for 30-45 seconds and then rinse it off with water. I use it as a second cleanse, after I have removed my makeup.

Feel and Effect on Skin: It clarifies the skin by exfoliating and leaves the face squeaky clean, super soft and smooth to touch. The product has tiny, red grains and they are not abrasive. There is no AHA or any other chemical exfoliant. The scrub is very gentle and can be used everyday. It does not strips the last drop of natural oil from face, but it is not hydrating either. It also calms any redness on face. I had irritation using a skincare product, while I was trying and this one helped to calm down the inflamed skin. It did not break me out or gave me any redness. 

Packaging: It comes in a good quality plastic bottle with wooden screw top cap. There is a circular slot to dispense the product. Very basic and simple. The packaging of this brand gives a very rustic, earthy vibes.

Verdict: I like this product. It is not unique. I have used similar product in the past. Tatcha Polished rice enzyme powder is very similar. I love to use this as a part of my morning skincare routine, because of its gentle abrasive qualities and its ability to deep clean. It helps me get rid of all the oils and lotions and potions that I apply at night. The skin feels soft and smooth. The smoothness reminds me of Origins Modern Friction Exfoliator, but it is a cream and totally different formula. The rice powder or rice bran powder leaves the face feeling like velvet. Not to mention, the product contains some really good, natural stuff. A very gentle product from Farmacy, that would work for any type of skin.
