It is so hot and sunny here in the windy city of Chicago! Even though I am getting crazy sun burns, I am enjoying gardening and just lazying around in my yard. Trying to make the most of this short lived summer happiness!
My skincare regime is definitely changed and all the creams, lotions and potions containing AHA, Kojic Acids and Glycolic acids. They just make skin more sensitive to sun and susceptible to sunburns. Anyways, one of the skincare product that has been changed is my eye cream. I have switched from creamy, rich eye creams to light weight eye gel.
I had this Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel and it came as a part of some kit.
Color: Pale Blue
Texture and Consistency: Light weight, not too dense, slightly sticky gel
Scent: Nothing major detected.
Application: I apply it at night using ring finger and dabbing motion. Barely any product is needed. Few dots is all I use for both eyes. I don't massage it like I usually do with creamy products. The texture makes it difficult to do that. Patting and dabbing is the way to go.
Feel and Effect of the product: This is sticky and that is something I did not enjoy. The product is not completely absorbed and it just sits there on top of the skin. It makes the under eye skin stretch and hence difficult and uncomfortable to read. More like how Aloe Vera gel feels on skin. It never dries completely. It does has slight cooling effect, but not minty cool and the effect does not lasts for long.
As far as de-puffing, I don't have eye bags nor they puff much when I have late nights or wake up too early or late. So it is difficult for me to comment on that.
Packaging: Mine came in a heavy, clear, acrylic jar with simple screw top lid.
Verdict: This is not my absolute favorite. It is light weight and it does cools and relaxes the eye. The texture though makes it uncomfortable. The product is neither completely absorbed nor completely dried. It stays tacky and sticky, making it little uncomfortable and much pleasant. This does not hydrates much either. I personally am used to heavier, richer creams, so I didn't expect much hydration from this product to begin with. It is an OK product, not very unique or amazing.
