The Monthly Review series will feature a mix of products ranging from Skincare, Beauty, Bath and Body, Hair, Nails etc. that I find interesting, magical, unique or just fun to use in that particular month. These products may be recent release or an old discovery. Also, in the series I will mention few products that failed to impress me or just did not work at all.
The initial months of the year are hardly registered by me. They pass by so quick!! Like real QUICK!

With the amount of skincare and makeup I try, by now I know my holy grail stuff, but I deliberately try to change products every month, so as to see what new things are cool and worth mentioning.
Skin and Hair Care Favorites/Hits
Caudalie Glycolic Peel: This is a cream product. It is not super harsh, which is great because it does not dries down my already dry skin. It does not leaves any dry, peeling patches. The product is gentle and in just two uses, I could just see brightening of the skin. The scent is exactly like my holy grail Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum. I am very hopeful that a regular use of this would help me get more clear, radiant skin. My experience with the serum from Caudalie has been excellent!
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask: This is a very gentle mask, more like a moisturizing cream. It is not very thick or greasy. I usually use it after I put on a skincare product that has enzymes, Alpha Hydroxy Acid or Glycolic Acid. I use it more like a soothing, calming mask. Not a very unique product, but I love the price, ingredients and the end results.
Nuxe Ultra Comforting Body Cream with Honey and Botanical Oils: OMG! This is such a wonderfully, delightful product to use. It is one of the most amazing body cream/lotion I have used till date. It glides beautifully and is absorbed almost instantly leaving the skin super silky. I only problem is I cannot find the full size of this product on their website! It was part of this kit and now I don't know where to search for it here in the USA. It is still available on some UK websites though. Excellent product!
ALTERNA Haircare CAVIAR CC Cream for Hair 10-in-1 Complete Correction: An all time favorite. Makes my hair look healthy and nourished. It does not weighs down my super fine, super thin hair.
Essence Long lasting lipsticks in Barely There and Cool Nude along with the Rimmel Exaggerate Full Color Lip liner in East End Snob and Enchantment make great pair. I am not a huge fan of these products individually, but in combination they just rock! and for the price, they are just awesome!
NARS Satin Lip Pencil: I finally found the misplaced NARS Satin Lip Pencil in shade Rikugien at the bottom of a spring handbag. This was a birthday gift from Sephora that they gave everyone last year. The texture is light weight and creamy. It glides beautifully and I found myself enjoying the color. Need to explore few more colors in this line.
BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector™ Pressed in OPAL: These are beautiful, popular and very loved and I can see why! The texture, the sheen, the staying powder everything is excellent and top notch. The color range is wide and there is something for everyone. This highlighter is not subtle. I have the small sized one and with the tiniest of amount needed, I don't see the need to buy a full size one anytime soon.
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder: I am probably the last person to own and try this one. Like every else, I too fell in love with this one almost instantly. No white cast, no chalky appearance, no itching or no drying. The setting powder is just perfection. There is only one negative thing that I can think about this one. It is a loose powder, little messy to travel. Other than that, a big thumbs up!
Nail Polish/Nail Color: With the season changing to Spring, I am really enjoying light, pastel colors on my nails. Re-discovering already favorite colors from my polish stash. The colors currently on my nails are from Essie (Topless & Barefoot) and OPI (My very first knockwurst).
This product did not live up to my expectation. Tatcha Indigo Soothing Silk Hand Cream. Everything that I have tried from the brand is awesome, but this one just failed to wow me! It is a good product. It is gentle, works nice and has great packaging. It makes the hand super smooth, and silky, but does not hydrates or moisturizes it as much as I want. The silkiness of the hand is more superficial, like silicone'y' silky. There are other hand creams out there, like this and this one, that work excellent and are much affordable. So this Tatcha Hand cream was not a complete dud, but a pass.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles (Neutralizer) was a total fail. I was most excited about this one. Even though the texture and consistency of this product was excellent and coverage great, the color match was a nightmare. It made my dark circles look more ashy, white and prominent. I guess if there was a color with more peach tone to it, the product would have worked. It is such a waste, because these drug stores have no testers and now I have this whole, brand new tube lying and I don't have any good use for it.
