It has a unique dry oil texture and a captivating fragrance.
Nuxe is a French brand. French pharmacy brands have been around forever, but have become very popular in last few years within the beauty community. They offer highly effective, no nonsense skincare and hair care products at a reasonable price. The composition of products are a clever blend of science and cosmetology.
I have used products from brands like Bioderma, La Roche-Posay, Vichy, Eucerin etc to name a few. I must admit, few of them have reached the holy grail status for me in my skincare routine.
I love oils. Period. Be it for face, body or hair. Every time I walk by the skincare section at Target, I spray the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse and I just love the way it smells. Unfortunately, I cannot pronounce the word Huile Prodigieuse. So lets just call it NUXE oil.
I placed my order online at Nuxe.com and their service is amazing. Fast shipping, excellent packaging.
Color: Pale Yellow (in bottle) but colorless when applied.
Texture and Consistency: Light, non sticky, thin oil
Scent: This smells divine! I don't know what it smells like, but the scent is excellent. Very soothing and relaxing.
Application: I apply it on my body after shower in place of body lotion. I spray few spritz at first, then spread it all over my body.
Feel and Effect on the skin: The product is absorbed completely and very quickly. This is a dry oil, so it is very light weight and almost disappears. If I go heavy with the quantity, the do see some shiny oil. The skin feels soft, moisturized and supple and it stays that way for good amount of time. I don't need to re-apply anytime soon. The oil does not leaves any stain on clothes. I have used it on my hair to tame the frizzes, and it works. I don't use it often for the hair though.
Packaging: I have a love hate relationship with the packaging. The bottle is made of glass and has a nozzle, like fragrance bottle. It spritz fine mist of oil and does not clogs. The shape of the bottle is beautiful to look, but it gets difficult to hold and use once the hands get slippery and oily. I would have preferred a cylindrical shaped bottle. Mine is a limited edition bottle, so it has a different picture on it.
Verdict: I love this oil. The moisturizing effect without getting too greasy or oily can be achieved by other oils like the Caudalie Divine Oil or the L'Occitane Body & Hair Fabulous Oil but it is the scent, the fragrance of this oil that is top notch and makes me choose the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse over any of the other oils that I have tried. I have also tried the Clarins Body Treatment oil and L'Occitane Almond Smoothing and Beautifying Supple Skin Oil, but these are not very light weight like the dry oils above. I love these regular oils too. Neutrogena Body Oil is an all time drugstore favorite oil of mine. It is easily available and very affordable.
