TARTE Holiday Set 2012 - (Lip Luster - Pouty)

These were the 4 amazing products inside the TARTE The Stand Outs Limited-Edition Best-Sellers Kit.

2 Full size Product (lip and eye)
1 Full size Brush
1 deluxe size Mascara

Lip Surgence Lip Luster in POUTY

This is a decently pigmented Lip Luster and does not needs sharpening. The chubby stick is berry-corally red and has Gold Micro shimmers/glitters in it. It is pretty true to color.

Swatch of Tarte Lip Luster in POUTY

This did not dry my lip, though after 3 hours the color was faded and the lips were left with micro sparkles. I had to re-apply. Pretty moisturizing and glides very evenly and easily.

Comparison: Tarte Pouty and NARS Dolce Vita

The comparison is done just to show the pigmentation of two different products.

A full Size of this product costs around $24 and this whole set costed $25!!
I love the convinience of this container and its just so cute!!!

The set is worth every penny!!

Beauty Buys: Tarte Holiday Sets, O.P.I

'BEAUTY BUYS' is another term coined for the infamous 'HAUL'. Its just thelistof
things I buy and the ones you will hear me 'yak', 'blab', 'review'aboutin
next few posts!!! Call this a 'Preview'...

Ulta had 20% off everything for a week or so. I tried my best to stay away from the store as I really wanted to NOT buy anything. But then again its a SALE... and how can I NOT visit the store and just see.... I am glad I did!

Picked some really good stuff

Goodies I picked:

Tarte LipSurgence lip set. It is a part of their special packaging or line called 'Baby it's bold outside': An amazing set of 5 full size  LipSurgence in mixed finishes. Would make a great Holiday Gift and would be appreciated by makeup lovers on your list.

Tarte Lip and eye set. These sets don't have any specific names, but most of them are great price for the products and each kit has good number of full size products. This one has a full size Tarte waterproof liner, a LipSurgence Lip luster, a deluxe size mascara and an amazing dual ended full size Brush (Love it!!!!)

O.P.I Skyfall Nail Polish minis: 4 mini shades in one neatly packed box. A great way to try unusual shades and then decide on picking a full size. Would make a great stocking stuffer.

O.P.I Nail Polishes in 3 classic shades that needs no introduction.

O.P.I Lincoln park after dark
O.P.I I'm not really a waitress
O.P.I Bubble Bath

Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish: My first time trying these glittery ones and I was super excited to grab two of these. They were displayed at the check out counter and I was so confused picking the colors. Came home with 'Ruby Red Slippers' and 'Let's Go Crazy'

Stunning names and stunning colors. Last night I wore 'Let's Go Crazy' over another nail polish and was happy with the compliments. I wish I had picked these earlier. Better late than never.

A great great purchase after really long time. Very glad with everything I picked. There was an amazing eye shadow palette kit by Lorac. It had 4 different palettes and most of them were wearable and super pigmented. I passed that one simply because I have loads and loads of shadows.

Will review the products soon and I feel these Tarte sets are something that won't disappoint anyone.

Simple Sparkles - Francesca's Collection

I just got this mail notification from Francesca's Collection. They have a BOGO half off offer on all their jewelry. Past weekend, on Sunday I had been to their Boutique and I saw pretty much most of these jewelry. They are well made, but yeah not as well made as a J Crew costume jewelry. They don't look cheap for sure.

The price range is pretty affordable around 25-35 USD. With the deal, these are steal!

Costume jewelry is something I think a lot before shelling out loads of money. I mean no matter how good they look, I still cannot convince myself dropping more than $100 on them until n unless its a classic piece and I know I will be wearing them a lot.

For these chunky necklaces and stuff that is all the rage these days, I find these boutiques a good place to hunt for "designer inspired" pieces.
Also for someone who is too intimidated by the idea of wearing HUGE necklace, but still would want to try, cheap but good looking pieces are their best friends.

I love the leaf bracelet with the huge green stone in the centre. I think it is something that would add the needed pop!

Do check the boutique if you have one near by. The sale is valid till October 16th, 2012. I am not affiliated with the brand or store. I just liked these few pieces and their quality. So if anybody interested might just go and take a look...

Enjoy Shopping!!!

LUSH - OATFIX MASK (REVIEW)

This was my second mask pick from LUSH along with The Sacred Truth Mask which I absolutely love!

Before we begin with the review and stuff, I just want to suggest that don't buy too many LUSH MASKS at one go. These are all natural and fresh products that need to be refrigerated and have a shelf life of barely 3 weeks. Loads of product just go waste unused because they reach their expiry dates soon.

Ok, with that said Back to review. I personally didn't enjoy this mask much. Though the ingredients in this are absolutely perfect for dry skin, there were few things that bothered me.

The whole combination of ingredients is amazing. Oats, Almonds, Banana, Vanilla, Glycerine to name a few. I wished it worked.

Color: Pale Yellow/Oatmeal kind of color.

Texture: Slightly gritty, fine paste and little sticky.

Consistency: Super thick Porridge.

Fragrance: Vanilla and something bitter. I just hated it!! It smelled so synthetic.

Application: It is very difficult to apply when cold. As this mask is to be refrigerated, it would obviously be cold. I just used to take the desired quantity out and leave it to come to room temparature. This being thick, spreading becomes difficult without adjusting the consistency. I added a few drops of water. I tried to apply it on its own, but most of the product actually fell in the sink because I was trying to literally stick blobs of product on my face. I kept it for 10-12 minutes.

Feel on Skin: This mask does not dries completely hard. The upper layer does loses moisture, but does not dries all the way. It made my skin feel itchy. I did not develop any rash or redness, but it did made my skin itchy. Moisturized well and did not dry out. I felt there was a layer of waxy something that I could scrap of with a thin spatula (i hope I am making sense here)

Effects: The mask has a slight gritty texture. It does not exfoliates like regular scrub as these grits are very fine, but does not leaves the skin dry either.

Verdict: I personally didn't enjoy the mask. It did not give me that happy feel on skin and the smell actually bothered me a lot.

Pic from Lush website

Caution: Keep the eyes closed when rinsing this one. If it gets into the eye, it is very difficult to get it out. Left my eyes red and cloudy. The grits made them all irritated and itchy!

Disclaimer: This is my experience with the product I purchased. It may or may not work for you. Please use skincare products at your own risk and always opt for patch test if in doubt.

Bianca Turquoise Stone Clutch - Review

I had been  seriously  wanting this Bianca Turquoise stone clutch from the time I saw it on Wendy’s Look Book and since past one month it has been haunting me in my dreams… J

Finally, this beauty arrived in mail on Friday and I am loving it!!! Let me tell ya girls.. this Stone studded clutch is as heavy as a stone! Seriously!

Usually, when I have to shop for things online, I always look for some reviews on the internet. I saw this clutch only on one blog and I wished the fashion blogger had reviewed the clutch a bit instead of just modeling. I fell in love with it anyways, so I had to get it. I hope the review helps someone who intends to buy this beauty.

The exterior of the clutch is unique and stunning, but I had some doubts regarding the interior of the bag.

My review and thoughts on this wonderful, conversation starter piece of accessory.

Size: Length – 18.5cm, Height – 9cm, Width – 5.5cm (from website)

 The Exterior: Stones and Crystal

Studded with multiple natural gemstones and crystals, the clutch is a heavy weight champion. The stones are of very good quality and the colors are rich and vibrant. The side of the clutch is completely lined by multiple gunmetal colored rhinestones which are Swarovski elements. I love the way it sparkles and catches light. Few rhinestones in my bag are not neatly aligned, but I believe it is handmade and so it is acceptable. It comes with few similar extra rhinestones in case you lose a few.

Little bit of bling, along with the vibrancy of stones!!! Killer combination!!!

The Lock: The lock is actually magnetic. There are four small magnets and it is very easy to open and close. Very secure.

The Strap: The clutch comes with a studded, detachable strap. It’s metal, in floral shape and has one rhinestone in each flower. It is to be attached to a thin ribbon like material, which I wish were made of metal.

The interior: This is where the issue was. The interior is a satiny material in silver gray color and mine is not very well attached. It is loosely stitched at certain places. The detachable strap that comes with it is actually to be attached to as thin satiny ribbon like material that is stitched with just a small single stitch. I find it too thin to bear the actual weight of the bag. (these doubts were clarified by the customer service)

I agree people don’t use clutch straps often, but I am not going to just pose with the clutch. I plan to actually use it and straps do come handy.

The Wanderlust Logo: The logo too in my bag was just stitched with one stitch and as the logo is made of metal, it was drooping.

The Packaging:  It came very well packed with multiple papers and bubble wraps. The clutch comes in a simple dust bag. I would suggest storing the clutch wrapped in bubble wrap first, then in the dust bag.

The Shipping: Shipped within 24 hours and it reached me within 12-13 days.

The communication: I am very impressed with the customer service. The person Jenn is awesome and all my queries were answered. I did mail her regarding the interiors and she took time to clarifying my doubts. According to her, it is done on purpose and the design of the clutch does not allows complete adhering of the lining. She also offered exchange or a compensation in form of 10% discount. I obviously chose the discount part.

My packet came with a free Wanderlust tote which is cute and a small business card signed by Jenn.

The Price:
The website had amazing deals in September and including discounts, the clutch was $140 (I paid a little more than that… but it was an awesome deal!)

Will I buy other colors or another clutch?
I would love to own another color, in White which is equally Gorgeous, but definitely will wait for deals.  I chose Turquoise color, because it works great in summer with whites and also with LBD anytime of the year.  So yes, my White clutch can wait.

There is room for improvement, especially the hooks for detachable strap. I personally did not go through the hassle of exchange or return.  It is too tedious and expensive for both parties. Jjust a waste! So I accepted the discount compensation.

Do not let go this clutch if you find it on sale or better deal, simply because IT IS UNIQUE and I assure you will get multiple compliments! I did my little research online and have yet to come across such a Unique stone clutch at this price point. I know Prada and Marchesa makes Stone clutches that are INSANELY expensive. The website has increased their prices for the clutch. Maybe the mega discount was their Limited time offer. Keep your eyes peeled for Holiday deals. They  might come up with awesome ones and new collections too!

Available at : Wanderlust +Co

Disclaimer: This is an honest review of the clutch I own. I purchased it myself and have paid for it. The link is NOT an affiliate link. It is just  for easy navigation.

P.S:  I realized I enjoy reviewing accessories more than skincare. It is instant gratification, unlike skincare products where I actually have to wait for few weeks to use, test and review. Next to follow are some amazing pieces of Jewelry that I picked recently.

Beauty Buys: Kiehls, MUFE, Urban Decay

'BEAUTY BUYS' is just another term coined for the infamous 'HAUL'. Its the list of
things I buy, try and the ones you will hear me 'yak', 'blab', 'review' about in
next few posts!!! Call this a 'Preview'

Kiehl's had their Friends and Family Sale and I took advantage of it to order few products to try. These are pretty expensive and after my not so good experience with Kate Somerville Brand, I hope these work.

Goodies I Picked: Skincare

Kiehl's ACAI Damage - Reparing serum

Kiehl's High Potency Skin Firming Concentrate

Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot solution

From Sephora I picked two Cosmetic Products

Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick in N#9

Urban Decay 24/7 liner Pencil in Demolition (Matte Brown) - Super excited to try this one!

Will review these once I have used them enough and as usual will share my experience with you all.

Have a lovely day... and thanks for stopping by.

Polka Dots

These are like EVERYWHERE!!!POLKA DOTS!! Every single store had something most delicious in Polka dots and I ended up getting that something from each store I visited during the last weekend.

Polka Dots

Cardigans and Sweaters

Colorburst!

Cardigans, Blouse, Scarf, Gloves, Dress, Bags, Shoes etc... you name them and they have it in polka dots. At every price point and multiple composition of fabrics. There is something for everyone.

I picked 2 Cardigans and 2 Layering tops from Old Navy in different Colors. The Cardigans are 100% Cotton and they were around $20 each (approx). The Tank tops or layering pieces were barely $5 and were on Clearance. Most of the clothing I saw in white polka dot prints were very sheer for my liking.

Ann taylor had a lovely Polka dotted scarf in Silk and Cotton Blend. It came home with me as well.

My Best Score was a cute 100% Silk top from Anthropoligie. It was on clearance at $50! Super Soft and super girly and flowy. I just love the feel of silk. Unfortunately, once you start loving silk, it becomes difficult to like polyster. No seriously!!

From Gap I scored a beautiful Grey Top with Blue Big Polka dots. Super comfy and Super cute. Would looks great with any blue skinny jeans or Black Leggings. GAP had lovely Scarves as well and reminded me of Marc by Marc Jacob Scarves.

The Limited had shell tops in a Polyster and Rayon Materials. I picked them as well, but have no pic in print to share. It is on their website.

I also scored a beautiful Satin/Modal fabric top from Nordstrom rack and it is super stunning. It is Oatmeal color in my pics above. Feels like Silk, but it is not. It is from Nic and Zoe.

H n M had a trendy button down shirt. Looks super cute, but the fabric is not amazing. you pay for what you get. It was $ 12.95 only. How could I leave that one.

Nordstrom and Neiman marcus too had some cute silk tops, but they were not in my price range. One that I really liked was from Kate Spade (above right)

There were some amazing stuff at other stores as well, especially Franchesca's Boutique and likes, but some of them didn't fit and I could not justify the price of few pieces, even though they were cute.

What are your Pics from Polka Dots. Any suggestions for Silk Tops? More interested in flowy ones and not professional looking. I would prefer trying these tops on before buyings. Please suggest some brands and link if possible.

Thanks for reading and have a great week ahead.

Disclaimer: I am not a fashion blogger. These are just few things I picked and have shared.
