DRY vs DEHYDRATED SKIN

There are multiple good articles on the internet written by experts on this topic, but I will try to pen down the simplified version as per my understanding of the subject.

Dry skin is a skin type, where the skin lacks oil and Dehydrated skin is a skin condition where the skin lacks water. As simple as that

Dehydrated skin condition is temporary and can be fixed easily. It is caused by damage in skin barrier with over use of physical and chemical exfoliators. Also, external factors like, indoor heating and cooling systems, exposure to the sun or cold temperatures, drinking less water and hot showers are some other reasons that cause Dehydration.

The product is Free of Fragrance, Essential Oils, Parabens and Alcohol.

White leaf tea comes from Camellia Sinensis plant and is rich source of Amino Acids. Both Green  Leaf Tea and White Leaf tea are powerful antioxidants. But White Leaf Tea is processed differently. It is obtained from shade-growing method and the water is extracted using the Single drop extraction technology, that helps maximize the antioxidant levels and in turn moisturizes, soothes and strengthens the skin barrier, thereby restoring the rough skin to its healthy condition.

COLOR, TEXTURE, CONSISTENCY

Light weight, Milky white, thin, runny, watery fluid. It literally looks like skimmed Milk. It is not sticky or greasy to touch but has that slip when applied onto the skin.

SCENT

None. This smells like nothing, which is a healthy change from the some Korean Skincare products that I use.

APPLICATION

I use it after cleansing and exfoliating (if I choose to exfoliate). Just a dime size product is more than enough to cover my whole face. I pat it onto my skin and massage lightly, till is completely absorbed by the skin.

USAGE EXPERIENCE 

Being light weight and fluidy, the product spreads easily and is absorbed almost instantly. It does stay tacky for a while, but eventually sets it. There is no visible shine or residue after single application, but layering it multiple times makes the face look dewy and borderline greasy. I have dry skin and I am fine layering it twice with ease and without any residue. The skin feels soft, smooth and super hydrated and nourished. These were instant results, but after using it for straight 5 days, I noticed the skin looked plump and bouncy. It looked supple and healthy! It did not break me out or clog my pores. The product layers well without pilling or balling. I even skipped my moisturizer during the day time, as I didn't feel the need to. 

PACKAGING

A heavy duty, plastic bottle that looks like Frosted glass, with a sturdy, wide, screw top cap. Leak-proof and travel friendly. It is beautiful, minimal and functional.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The light weight, watery texture is the USP of this product. It is the formulation of the product that is amazing. With just few basic ingredients, super light weight consistency and insanely hydrating quality, this can be used by any skin type that needs the moisture without any heaviness. As it is a 'cream toner' it is used very early in the routine and it helps with the absorption of other products that are layered and increase their efficacy. A wonderful, light weight, fragrance free product that hydrates leaving behind a smooth, supple and soft skin. A must have product for anyone who is not a fan of using multiple products in a routine or anyone with dehydrated skin needing that boost of hydration without the heaviness.
