One of the very good things about Lancome is their Gift with Purchase aka the GWP. They are pretty generous with what they give in their GWP bag and usually those are in good decent deluxe size of their popular products. With skincare, it is always better to use a product for few days, maybe at least a week before commiting to a full size bottle. The ADVANCED GÉNIFIQUE YOUTH ACTIVATING SERUM is something that I have tried before, two deluxe sample bottles actually. I gave away the original things I purchased but kept the GWP for myself. Smart!!!!

Alcohol denat. is not the best ingredient for dry skin. It is a Solvent, Viscosity Controlling, Antifoaming Agent. It is Antimicrobial and is an Astringent.
Dimethicone is a Skin Conditioning, Skin Protecting, Emollient, Antifoaming Agent. It is comedogenic to some extent, so I had to point it out.
Formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates
Color, Texture, Consistency
Cloudy white, light weight, gel like smooth fluid. It is not too viscous or dense. It is not runny either.
Scent
It has a serum scent which technically makes no sense, but in my world it is a light, almost negligible 'something' that is not herbal or floral or perfume'y'.
Application
It comes with a self-loading dropper, that provides the exact, perfect amount every time. As a skincare, I use it on cleansed and toned face. Just gently press and smooth the serum all over the face and neck. It is light weight and spreads easily, absorbs almost instantly. The serum does remain tacky for 30-25 seconds and then sets in without leaving any greasiness or residue. I follow it with a good moisturizer.
As a part of makeup, the brand suggests to mix the serum with foundation for extra luminosity. I tried that too and mixed it with my tinted moisturizer. It helped the moisturizer to spread much better.
Tips on Application
Use this cold, by keeping the bottle in fridge for extra boost. I didn't do that because, it is still very cold in Chicago and I don't enjoy the cold, wet feeling on my face in cooler weather.
Use it as a Lip serum for dry lips. I tried it and it was OK
Use it by mixing in Foundation. I tried and enjoyed it. Makes spreading the base products easily and evenly.
Feel and Effect on the skin
The serum is not greasy and it leaves the skin super smooth, silky soft and supple. On its own, the serum does not provides the needed moisture. All thanks to the Alcohol Denat. it made my dry skin feel drier and stretched. I had to top it with another rich cream. It does make the skin look plump, bouncy and fine lines are less noticeable. The dry patches disappear completely, which is strange considering the serum didn't moisturize on its own. It is the Dimethicone that did the trick. Other than the smoothness and softness part, most of these effects were not instant. It took me a week plus of use once a day to notice these results. It did not break me out nor clogged my pores.

Sturdy, chic looking glass bottle, that is pretty much easy to spot in any high end store or airport duty free beauty shops. It comes with a self-loading dropper, that dispenses just the needed amount of product for every single use. Exact shot of anti-aging goodness.
Final Thoughts
I used the serum for two weeks as a part of my skincare routine, only once a day. It is advised to use twice a Personally, I did see some decent results, especially with the quality of the skin. The texture had become smoother, softer with dry patches disappearing, almost making the skin look even and plump. The elasticity improved with bouncy and supple skin. All this contributed in making the skin look fresh, radiant and healthy.
This is not a miracle in a bottle. It won't make you younger by 10 years. It is a serum with good, potent ingredients. Having a good skincare routine is a must. Constant and religious use of good quality ingredients on skin definitely helps in improving the over all health and condition of the skin.
A solid product that is here to stay in my skincare routine.
