ESSENCE Pure Nude Highlighter - Be My Highlight 01

ESSENCE Pure Nude Highlighter - Be My Highlight 01

A natural Highlighter. This Essence Pure Nude Highlighter adds natural luminescence to cheeks, temples, and brow bone for a gorgeous glow. The baked formula applies smoothly while the light texture blends easily for a natural finish.

Not tested on animals.

This is probably one of the most natural looking, high quality, super affordable highlighter at the drugstore. It blows my mind just to see how amazing this one is and at this price point.

Color: Champagne nude (neither too pink nor too gold)

Texture and Consistency: Smooth, soft, buttery, not too shimmery, not powdery, finely milled baked product

Scent: None

Application: I use it all over my face after my makeup is done with a big fluffy brush, if I am wearing it at night time. During the day, I use a highlighter brush like Charlotte Tilbury Powder & Sculpt Brush or Anastasia Beverly Hills Brush #23 to concentrate it specifically at the high points of my cheeks or brows. Basically any small, tapered brush can be used.

Feel and Effect on the Skin: The highlighter is so finely milled that it almost feels like butter. It literally melts into the skin, without emphasizing any fine lines, pores or dry patches. The powder layers smoothly and evenly over the base products. It leaves a beautiful, natural looking glow on the skin. The sheen is non metallic and so it can be used all over the face with a big, fluffy brush and light hand, for dewy, healthy look. For more intensified look, the product can be build up by depositing it on high planes of face, with a dense compact brush. It catches the light beautifully making the skin glow, not a shimmery, glittery glow but a gorgeous, lit from within glow. It stays on skin for really long time, and does not just gets wiped off after few hours. It did not irritate my skin nor did it felt dry. I had not adverse reaction to it.

Packaging: The packaging is very flimsy. It is has no mirror nor any applicator like sponge, mini brush etc. The price is super affordable and the performance it excellent. I would not mind the crappy packaging.

Verdict: This highlighter reminds me of Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders or the Laura Mercier
'Candleglow' Sheer Perfecting Powder. You can disguise and re-package this in a fancy container and I would pay top dollars for it. No kidding. It is affordable, but not of cheap quality. I don't have anything negative to say about it, except for the flimsy packaging. Even though it comes in only one shade, I think it is pretty neutral and would work on many skin tones. Just give it a try and see for yourself.

Few other Highlighters that I have tried
