NUDE Skincare Perfect Cleanse Nourishing Cleansing Oil

NUDE Skincare Perfect Cleanse Nourishing Cleansing Oil
NUDE Skincare Perfect Cleanse Nourishing Cleansing Oil

An omega-rich oil cleanser for the face and eyes that effortlessly cleanses skin and dissolves makeup.

Packed with omega 3 and 6, this cleanser deeply cleans, eliminating all impurities and even the toughest waterproof makeup without stripping the skin of essential moisture. It leaves skin feeling comfortably clean, soft, and supple.

Formulated WITHOUT: - Parabens - Sulfates - Phthalates

Suitable for vegans, this gluten-free product contains 100 percent natural plant oils. The fragrance used is 100 percent natural and allergen-free.

Love the way "NUDE" is written

Color: Clear

Texture and Consistency: Light weight fluid. Neither too thick and goopy nor too thin and watery.

Scent/Fragrance: Mild and pleasant

The hygienic pump dispenser
Packaging: Comes in  a sturdy, sleek plastic bottle with a pump. The plastic is good and not flimsy at all. The lid snaps shut, so easy to travel with. Pretty standard and hygienic.

Application: I usually use any kind of cleansing oil once a day, preferably during the night. I take 2-3 pumps of this oil on my palms, spread it all over my face and then massage it with finger tips. Then as suggested I use few drops of warm water. This emulsifies to form a light milk. I rinse it off with water till clean.

Feel on Skin: The oil is thin and light weight but not very watery so it spreads easily. There is not much slip to it and mid way during massaging, I find it gets slightly sticky and dries, thus making it difficult to continue with the massage. Either I need to add more oil to continue or I end off the process with water. This emulsifies very light. There is not much of the 'milky' thing. The scent is pleasant and it does not sting the eyes.

Effect on Skin: The skin feels good and clean. There is no greasy residue nor any heavy feeling. There is no dryness immediately like other regular cleanser, but the face is  not moisturized enough to substitute regular moisturizer.

Verdict: I like the product, but I don't love it to bits. There are other oils that I have tried and I find them comparatively much better, especially the Shu Uemura Whitefficient clear brightening gentle cleansing oil and Shu Uemura Anti/oxi skin refining cleansing oil. (Long names!!)

It does remove makeup. Anything very heavy like multiple layers of primer, long lasting foundation and full on eye makeup will need a makeup remover like BiodermaClinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm or a the Balm Balms Away (review here) before using this product. For everyday light makeup removal, this does the job.

Beauty Cravings

Couple of things I wish to try in the coming months.

1. NARS Dual Intensity Blush : Very stunning and beautiful. I did get a chance to swatch a few of these.

2. Charlotte Tilbury Beach Sticks: I can never say no to a creme cheek product. As much as I enjoy the powder blushes, I find myself reaching for creme products more often. I love my NARS Multiple. This looks pretty similar.

3. Charlotte Tilbury Multi-Miracle Glow' Cleanser, Mask & Balm : A self proclaimed skincare junkie, I know I have to try this as well as the Charlotte's Magic Cream' Treat & Transform Moisturizer.

4. GLAMGLOW Cleansers: Looks interesting! SUPERCLEANSE™ Daily Clearing Cleanser, THIRSTYCLEANSE™ Daily Hydrating Cleanser, YOUTHCLEANSE™ Daily Exfoliating Cleanser are new offerings from the makers of very popular GLAMGLOW facemasks.

5. TATCHA Polished Rice Enzyme Powder: Have never tried anything from this brand, but have tried a similar rice powder kind of cleanser/exfoliator before. Looking forward to get this in a kit or maybe a generous Sephora Sample :)

Anything New in Beauty you looking forward to?

La Roche Posay - Hydraphase Intense Masque

La Roche Posay - Hydraphase Intense Masque

Thermal bath for sensitive skin. Comfort, softening, soothing.

The infusing texture of Hydraphase Intense Mask envelopes the skin in a thermal bath and releases high-performance hydrating ingredients [Hyaluronic Acid Fragments] to immediately infuse and retain water in the skin for optimal hydration.
High concentration of La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water, a natural anti-oxidant that is soothing and anti-irritating.

I love Lisa Eldridge. Love the way she applies makeup and her passion and borderline obsession for masks, facial massage and skincare in general. I find her accent and voice very soothing. So if Lisa says La Roche Posay - Hydraphase Intense Masque is her favorite (video), I have to try it. Well, she even loves the Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask, but then it is way too expensive for me.

My skin is dry, flaky on random spots and prone to pigmentation. So hydrating as well as brightening masks are my absolute must haves. I find myself using masks pretty much all the time and I don't stick to rules when it comes to facial masks.

Color: Palest Blue

Texture and Consistency: Light, creamy, non-sticky, non-greasy, silky and gel like but not a gel.

Fragrance: Pleasant, but cannot exactly point what it is.

Application: The website suggests Apply a generous layer on face and neck and leave on for 10 minutes for absorption. Gently tissue off any excess. Avoid contact with eyes. I apply it both ways. Mostly as directed and rarely just a thin layer as an over night mask, though it would avoid using it over night due to the ingredients in it.

Feel on Skin: Initially on application, it feel cool, not as strong as minty cool, but cooling and soothing kinds cool. The mask is non sticky and absorbs withing few minutes and turns matte. The skin feels soft and smooth. It smells pleasant too.

Effect on Skin: It feels good on skin. It makes the skin soft and smooth to touch. No stretchy or itchy feeling. The skin supple but not really hydrated. Don't get me wrong. It 'feels' smooth and silky, very much like one feels after applying a face primer. This is where the product failed to impress me.

Packaging: Soft squeeze tube with a flip top cap. Very basic and simple tube.

Verdict: The star ingredient is Hyaluronic acid. It also contains Glycerine. Both of these ingredients are powerful humectant i.e; moisture-binding ingredient. It helps keep the skin plump, hydrated, moisturized and younger looking. The mask does keep the skin moisturized and supple, but I found it didn't make the skin plump. In turn it made it more silky smooth, all thanks to another ingredient Dimethicone, which is a silicon and major ingredient in any of primers or line erasing product. Usually I break out with silicone use, but surprisingly this one didn't irritate my skin, Also there is mineral oil in it. It does not bothers me, but I know many don't prefer it in their skincare products.
The ingredient list can be found here

Masks are a part of Skincare regimen. So I personally look for something that would help me actually take care of my skin for long time, like a treatment. I am not looking for some quick fix smoothing product.

I would continue using this mask as a quick fix before an important event or party, but not as a part of my daily skincare mask routine.

Currently I am using Boscia Tsubaki Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask along with Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil. Both these are new for me. I will review them soon.

Benefit Cosmetics - Watt's Up! (Cream Highlighter)

A soft-focus highlighter for face.

This cream-to-powder highlighter turns up the wattage with a delicate, gorgeous champagne glow. Its smooth application and luminous sheen switches on the "wow" factor for any complexion. Apply it to cheeks and browbones, then sculpt with the soft-glow blender for your perfect gleam.

I am a bit of a highlighter addict. I mean among all of the makeup product category, I am partial towards Highlighters/Illuminators. Anything that makes me glow! I am all for it. The word 'glow' just makes me happy! That explains the name of my blog. It was named 'glowingface' in its early days. Well, here it is! A little 'throwback' moment.

Back to the product. I have had this one for a while, but with my on and off blogging ritual, I never reviewed it. Benefit Cosmetics are known for their weird funky packaging and cool products. Watts Up! is their Creme Highlighter in a Stick form. The one pictured above is a mini version, but the full size product has a cap/lid that is in shape of a bulb (Watts Up!) and it comes with a sponge applicator on the other side. The product itself is a cream stick and twists up like a lipstick.

Color: Champagne beige/peach with slight hues of gold

Texture and Consistency: Creamy, non greasy, smooth stick with absolutely finely milled shimmer in it. (It is a little on drier side and not very emollient. I am not sure if this is the case with the product I have because cream products tend to dry over a period of time or it is the general texture of this product)

Scent: None detected

Application: Just couple of dabs using the stick directly on the cheek bones and then slightly blending it with fingers using tapping motion. I apply this with my fingers, because I find it blends best when using fingertips. The blender sponge works ok too, but I prefer fingers. Usually I apply this over a creme product as opposed to any powder product. It can be used over makeup too, but i prefer to follow the creme over creme rule. Also tried it on my brow bone and inner eye corner and it works fine.

Effect and Feel: This is a cream to powder finish product and has a very light weight, non sticky, non greasy formula. It has enough glide to blend and not bunch up at places. It stays put and gives a beautiful, glowy sheen. The skin appears very naturally luminous and lit from within. There are absolutely no chunks of glitter. Over blending defeats the purpose and the product just disappears and fails to deliver the candlelight glow. This usually happens with most of my liquid and cream highlighters like NARS Illuminator Hot Sand or Edward Bess All over Seduction. This did not clog or settled into pores nor made it appear enlarged and prominent. So thats is a plus.

Longevity: This is the part where it failed to deliver. On me it barely lasted for 2 hours and then just vanished! I did not sweat too because I used it in colder weather. This did last longer when topped with a complimenting powder highlighter like theBalm 'Mary-Lou Manizer' Highlighting Powder or Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

Packaging: Convenient, creamy stick, easy to apply and travel with. Comes with a sponge applicator at the other end. Reminds me a of NARS Multiple Stick.

Swatch of Benefit Cosmetics Watt's Up! cream Highlighter

Verdict: This is a good highlighter but not my absolute favorite. I can see this working on many skin tones and skin types and age group. This did not turn white or ashy on my medium olive toned skin and did not mess with the dryness either. Also the sheen is very subtle and would work awesome for day time use like daily office environment or for someone who is not much into makeup. This just adds dimension making the skin appear radiant without looking glamorous or over the top. I would personally prefer a more high metallic sheen kinda product for night time use. Good, multipurpose product for daily wear.

Some other good highlighters from the brand includes High Beam (review), Sun Beam and Girl Meets Pearl (review)

Can be purchased at Sephora, Macys, Ulta and Benefit Cosmetics

Origins - Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash

A face cleanser that cleverly balances dry and oily skin.

When it comes to faces that are both dry and oily, it takes a clever cleanser to balance the two. This gentle, frothy face wash carefully does both jobs without canceling each other out. Skin feels comfortably refreshed after cleansing—never tight, pulled, or parched. Great for all skin types, it’s enriched with aromatic bergamot, spearmint, and lavender to add pleasure to the process.

Formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Phthalates

Broad leaf kelp extract discourages excess oil production while wheat protein balances and protects dry-prone zones. Tourmaline makes water wetter to more easily disperse dirt and sebum down the drain.

I have never been this 'expensive face cleanser' type of person. There are few things I just cannot convince myself to splurge on. Mascara comes close second. I always find drug store brands have some really good cleansers and Mascara at a very affordable price. The Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash was a part of some fancy kit that I usually buy during the Holidays. Most of my expensive Face washes or cleansers are usually part of some gift sets.

My two cents on the product.

Color: White with some sheen? like a vanishing cream

Texture and Consistency: Thick, Creamy, non drippy, Mousse like

Scent/Fragrance: Non synthetic, light minty

Usage: Twice a day AM and PM or as needed

Application: Just like any other cleanser. I took a dime sized amount of this face wash on my wet palms and massaged it all over moist face to create a thick, rich, foamy lather. Rinsed it after a minute with tepid water.

Feel and Effect on Skin: It felt good on the skin. The skin felt squeaky clean and considering how thick and creamy the product was, I thought it would leave a residue, but it did not. There was no stretchy or itchy feeling afterwards. I did need to moisturize my face, but then again I have a very dry skin and Chicago winters make it worse. There is no exfoliation of any sort, nor any tingling or redness.

As far as removing makeup is concerned, this would take care of a light tinted moisturizer and some blush, but if the face is loaded with full on makeup using primer and foundation, this would not help to get rid of it completely. A makeup remover will be needed.

Packaging: Mine is a 1 fl.oz. soft squeeze tube with a screw top cap. It dispenses the product like a toothpaste, all thanks to the consistency. Easy to travel with

Verdict: This is a good face wash. A thick, creamy one with mild minty scent and a rich formula. No exfoliation or peeling whatsoever. I have a dry skin and it worked good for me. The moisturized effect of the cleanser is not enough to skip on daily moisturizer or serum.
This did not burn or irritate my eyes, which is a huge plus because most of the Origins product (Origins Starting Over™ Age-Erasing Moisturizer with Mimosa, Origins Modern Friction™ Nature's Gentle Dermabrasion,) do that to me. Don't expect any miracles. This just cleans and cleans well.
