Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush - Luminous Flush

A groundbreaking hybrid that combines the customized lighting effects of Ambient Lighting Powder with a spectrum of breathtakingly modern hues for seamless, soft-focus, and multidimensional color.

What it does:
Hourglass has fused Ambient Lighting Powder, the cutting-edge collection of finishing powders, with an array of vivid cheek colors, creating a hybrid product that is unique, contemporary, and revolutionary. Unlike traditional blush, which tends to be flat, Ambient Lighting Blush uses Photoluminescent Technology to exhibit depth and dimension. The airy, lightweight powders contain optically transparent particles that amplify the colors to a multidimensional level—effectively reinventing the way you view blush. They deliver a radiant, natural finish and offer buildable color to imbue the entire complexion with an otherworldly glow.

Shade Description
Luminous Flush (Champagne rose blush fused with Luminous Light to evoke a candlelit glimmer)

Everything I read about this blush sounded absolutely divine and awesome! Not to mention the makeup artist at my local store made sure she applied this blush on my cheeks and made me look million bucks (yes, I say this myself) in all those beautiful, bright lights at Sephora. It was hard to pick a color, but then I went with Luminous Flush. Radiant Magenta and Diffused heat were two other colors on my list.

Color: It is a Coral Pink color. More of Pink, less of coral, but soft coral. Depending on the lighting and skin tone, the blush may show up slightly different on everyone. So sometimes, this appears as coral pink and other times its Pink Coral. Yeah, pathetically difficult description. The blush has warm undertones, with golden glow. It has Golden Sheen and no sparkles whatsoever. This was the reason I picked Luminous Flush color over Radiant Magenta which was my first choice. The Magenta one had Golden Sparkles, very very little, but surely Sparkly than this one.

Texture: Finely milled, soft, smooth, buttery, slightly powdery and airy. A very very light weight powder.

Application: The blush is a dream to work with. I used it with two brushes. MAC 129 Blush Brush and Real Techniques Blush Brush. Just swirled the brush in the pan and it picked a good amount of color. Very easy to apply and difficult to overdo. This just melted into the skin and it was very easy to blend the edges. The color is true to the pan and can be layered to get more intense color if needed. The color is buildable. Looks very natural, as the finish is satiny and gives a soft sheen with a good glow, especially in light. It is not at all glittery or Sparkly. This didn't accentuate the pores.

Longevity: The blush lasted good 8 hours. I don't know how it would perform in humid summers, but right now in super cold weather this did not budge. The blush didn't dry the cheeks too.

This blush is paraben free, but has tons of other stuff, which can be read above in its box print.

Packaging: Chic, gun metal colored packaging, which snaps shut and has a mirror inside. Does not comes with brush or pouch, which is fine, because either ways I never use it. The metallic casing picks finger prints and marks. Not very heavy or bulky.

Verdict and My thoughts: A very nice product to own. This is something different than what I own. As far as the color is concerned it is not unique, but the feel, texture and glow is very different from anything I have in my collection. Worth giving a try. I would suggest testing it at store on cheeks and then choosing the color. The colors I tried looked pretty similar on my face. I tried Radiant Magenta and Diffused heat. Even though the colors were pretty similar, the sheen was different. Radiant magenta looked slightly more pink, but it had some sparkles. I think it would make a great night time, party blush. This particular one can be worn anytime of the day, without looking over the top, sparkly disco ball. It looks chic. I just loved this blush. This one is a keeper.
