MAC Superb – I did not need this. I did not even knew anything like this coming. I have been not at all following New Releases. I do visit 2-3 Beauty Blogs though. NaturalnChicMakeup (I just love her pics), The Beauty Look Book (Its virtual shopping for me… she has the best stuff to share and I just enjoy seeing the neat blog)and ofcourse Temptalia along with few others.
I only bought this product because many people I follow on twitter were talking about this and how it is a dupe for some sold out products in the past. The Blogger in me got restless and I did my little research. Also I have a little weakness for Highlighters... Turns out this is a Illuminating powder, that has metallic finish and a consistency like liquid ?? and is not powdery, non glittery, not chunky and does not enlarges the pores.
Sounds good and the consistency is NEW (to me). MAC website said SOLD OUT. Nordies had it. With free shipping I said Why not?
As per MAC website:
A liquid-powder highlighter with prismatic reflections that sculpts, highlights and models the face. The cool, creamy near-fluid formula creates a luminous, well-defined finish. Wears 10 hours.
So here it is… a beautiful Highlighter in front of me and in front of you all. I am tempted to touch it, but I feel that the product might have too much “metallic” sheen to it. Is it like Other wordly Blush from MAC? I Love the color of Other wordly (limited edition Blush), but find it way to metallic for my liking. Don’t want to ruin a product by just swatching once!
Will be visiting The mall this weekend. First I will check this in person and then decide whether or not this should make entry in my collection. Either ways I am having hard time in down sizing my make up stash.
You can see this swatched on Temptalia and Xinarox
You can see comparisons on Naturalnchicmakeup and Makeupandbeautyblog
If any one of you have purchased this beauty, please let me know if its worth the hype or just any other highlighter. Anything specific you find different than million and one highlighters out there?
p.s: This whole post was to be posted last week. I am late by one week. Did visit the mall and got a chance to check this product. Reallly Beautiful!!! Initially on my hand it looked a little metallic, but then I requested the SA to dust a little on my cheeks and she used 131 brush (stubby, duo fibre). I have no idea why she used that brush, because I use that one for cream blush.
Anyways, it really looked very beautiful... there was a lovely sheen. It did not impart any color, infact it looked very pretty on the blush.
Would love to hold on to this one. But please do give your opinions. Would appreciate. Thank you for reading.

*Step 4 in the Enbrightenment skin care system which is clinically proven to

Usage (As I used) : AM and PM (along with Serum)
Duration: 16 weeks plus (first 14 weeks with the serum, then my serum was done. Later I just used this as moisturizer)
Texture: Very weird and sticky.
Color: Creamy vanilla, leaning towards yellow and not white.
Fragrance: I didn't like it.
Packaging: Plastic Bottle with Pump.
Feel on the Skin: This is a moisturizer, but I don’t see any moisturizing quality in it. On application over serum, it is sticky and feels oily. Also it feels as if it is just sitting on the skin and is not absorbed at all. It does reduces the stretchy feel left by the serum.
Results: As I mentioned in the serum review, the combination of serum and moisturizer did help brighten my skin and made it look more clear, though not visible difference in individual
sun spots or shadow. The moisturizer on its own did nothing good. It works well in conjugation with the serum.
Verdict: Both these products from Aveda Enbrightment line have weird smell and texture. Its not a very pleasant experience on face. As I work from home, my skin is pretty protected from dirt, sunlight and pollution. Also, I have the luxury of using any skincare product even if it is oily or greasy.
I must add at night(PM) I use only and only Josie Maran ArganOil. That one product is amazing for improving skin suppleness and texture. Also it being natural, just sinks into the skin and provides complete overnight protection from heater and repairs my skin naturally.
Will I buy again?
Maybe, if I don't see any results with my current products in use. I didn’t like the texture, Smell or feel of these babies on my skin, but lets admit, the combination helped.
Disclaimer: No one paid me any buck to write this review. This original bottle was purchased by me. Everyone has different Skin type n skin issues. So things that might work for you, may not work for me and vice- versa. Please do patch test before using or ask for samples at store.
Note: I asked AVEDA store about the Weird smell of the products and she said that I should have
bought the bottle back and they would have replaced it for me. Usually the shelf life of product is pretty good, but sometimes there can be a weird batch. I checked the smell of the product (new bottle) and it was actually pleasant.
These products were tried and tested from September–December 2011 and this review was written around January 2012. I just was not updating my blog.

*Based on clinical testing after 8 weeks of using the 5-step Enbrightenment regimen, plus SPF 15
Usage (As suggested by the company)
Smooth onto clean, toned skin a.m. and p.m., focusing on discolored, dull areas. May feel tightening of skin. Follow with Brightening Correcting Lotion or Brightening Correcting Creme.
Usage (As I Used): AM and 8 hours later during Mid day (along with Moisturizer)
Duration: 14 weeks
Texture: Smooth Liquid, not too runny and slightly slippery (not as slippery as silicone based products)
Color: Cloudy White
Fragrance: Weird (I didn’t like). Very annoying.
Packaging: Plastic bottle with Pump.
Feel on Skin: I use around three- four pumps and it is enough for my face. The texture is smooth and so the product spreads easily. Initially, it feels tacky and sticky but after a minute it sets well. I find it a bit on drying side later as it gives that tight, stretchy feel. Applying a moisturizer over it helps.
Results: I did notice some difference in over all skintone. It did not show any noticeable change in the individual spots or dark shadows I was hoping for. My skin looked clear n more fresh n bright (if this description makes any sense). Also my pictures turned out pretty nice. Many gave me compliments that my skin looked good.
Verdict: It’s a nice product if you can bear the weird smell. Will brighten the complexion over all, but if you are looking for some spot target treatment for old acne scars or sun burnt spots, this might not be the product.
I must add, I am pretty religious with my regimen. I used the Moisturizer from the same line.
