TheBalm - Balms Away Eye Makeup Breakup

This is just clear Vaseline in a fancy packaging and high price. Well, not exactly Vaseline, but a lighter cousin. It works perfectly and gets the job done so no complains, except the price you pay for Vaseline. I picked it from TJMax for a fraction of price, so it didn’t hurt.

Texture: Just like Vaseline, but bit lighter.

Color: White

Scent: None

Usage: I use a tiny bit around my closed eyes, leave it for 45 seconds and then wipe it off with a baby wipe. I also use ear buds to clean the corners and run it along the lines where I apply the liner. This helps in not smudging the whole thing and there by effectively ‘picking’ any kohl or liner residue. Avoid getting it inside the eye, because it makes them cloudy, blurry and difficult to see.

Effect: It leaves the area clean by removing any of the eyeliner, mascara and shadow I apply. I usually don’t use water proof mascara, so I have no idea if this works on waterproof stuff effectively. The eye area does not get dry, itchy or red which is a good thing. It acts as a moisturizer. It does leave a greasy residue, but not a thick film of grease. I prefer washing my face with a cleanser after using this product.

Verdict: It is a good product and due to its texture and consistency, easy to travel with without any spillage. It didn’t break me out, which is another plus, as I applied it on face too. I didn’t enjoy it on face though. The best way for it to work effectively is to wait after applying and allowing it to actually break and dissolve the product build up. Also, due to its greasy nature, I don’t think it is a good idea to use this to ‘fix’ any makeup mistake.

Packaging: Cute in a tin like Shoe Polish and Unique like all TheBalm Products.

Price: It is a huge Jar and will last for a really long time. I see it still at many TJMax and Marshalls. I had it, so I thought I will review it. It might help someone. I would call it pricey, because you actually pay for Unscented Vaseline, but otherwise, for the quantity in the jar, TJMax price of $10 is fine.
