Urban Decay eye shadow swatches, reviews

This is a post especially for a friend sara who happens to be my blog reader and now we have become friends...
Sara and I were chating and she asked me if she should get Urban Decay Ammo palette or Urban Decay Deluxe eyeshadow palette during the Sephora sale that starts today.
I was pretty surprised to know that I had never posted swatches of any of these palettes on my blog and when Sara asked me to share the swatches, I thought I will do a mini review aswell.

Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box

What it is:
A Deluxe Shadow palette featuring nine decadent Urban Decay eyeshadow shades and a vial of Primer Potion.
What else you need to know:
The new and improved Deluxe Shadow Box includes a wide selection of Urban Decay's velvety pigment-rich Deluxe Eyeshadows ranging from bold brights to classic neutrals. The box also comes with the classic Eyeshadow Primer Potion—a tried and tested product to keep eyeshadow looking fresh for hours. The gorgeous compact is wrapped in luxe purple faux suede, and features a decorative shiny silver mesh window.
Shades include: Fishnet, Honey, Ransom, Graffiti, Zero, Peace, Shag, Scratch, and Underground.

The swatches below are just one swipe without any base. Simply GORGEOUS!!!

So, if I have to choose between these two palettes, I would obviously go for Deluxe palette, simply because this palette has a great selection of all the colors that come in the deluxe range of shadows.
Also these colors are buttery soft, shimmery NOT glittery (which many of Urban Decay shadows are) amazingly pigmented and highly blendable. I don’t even need to talk about this palette as everyone knows its one of the best pre-made palettes available in market. The palette has something for everyone.

From colors like hot pink and bright green to neutrals like
taupe and beige, the palette has everything,…also it has one of THE BEST TRUE
GOLD color which is my favorite and worth buying full size.

Urban Ammo Eye Palette
What it is:
Happy 10th Birthday, Urban Decay! To celebrate, they packed 10 of their best-selling shades into a case that's a tactile experience on its own.
What else you need to know:
Covered in touchable, matte black paper, the compact features a mesmerizing assortment of UD elements - animals, hearts, skulls, and flourishes - gently wafting from a pistol in overlapping textures of violet metallic foil and rich velvety flocking. Upon opening the kit, you're met with endless eye options: 10 best-selling shadows are arranged as five sets of coordinating duos, running the gamut from subtle to sexy. The slim case is complete with a perfectly sized mirror, applicators, and a magnetic closure, so it's sure to stay closed in your handbag.
Palette includes Eyeshadows in Smog (deep coppery bronze), Maui Wowie (sandy
sheen), Mildew (shimmering metallic green), Shattered (bright iridescent
aquamarine), Oil Slick (black with rainbow glitter), Polyester Bride (sheer
white shimmer), Last Call (iridescent plummy purple), Grifter (sparkling pale
purple), Chopper (shimmering fawn with glitter), and Sin (light shimmering
champagne).

Swatches of Urban Ammo Eye Palette

Ammo palette by Urban Decay is another very sleek palette which has 10 lovely colors. The colors co-ordinate well together, but the only problem is some colors are glittery with huge chunks of glitter and they have tons of fallout. Definitely not flattering. The palette has a basic white and a black color.
My personal favorites are Smog, Mildew, Last call. Another color I like a lot and I find unique is Shattered. It is like a duochrome, with blue and green hues. Verry Pretty. Also, the colors in this palette can be duped by similar colors from different brand.

The swatches below are again just simple swipes once or twice with no base underneath.

I would any day vote for Deluxe shadow box. With a base underneath these are one of the most vibrant eye shadows I own. I only wished the packaging to be a bit sleek and not so bulky.
Hope this helps you Sara….(I know you would have found all this information on the net, but then again friends support friend….hehe!!)
